Just so you know, I have both the N7 and N8ii. I don’t find them too similar. N7 sounds smoother and more tubey than N8ii in tube mode. Frankly, I don’t hear much difference between N8ii’s modes and wonder why Cayin didn’t make more contrast between modes.

I have now factory restored the M9 using the regular method and then through system restore. No matter, the M9 will not play Roon or Plexamp. I even reflashed the latest firmware. Anyone have any ideas how to do an even lower level restore?

I didn't know that about how you tuned the XF and what you thought it sounded it like. Maybe my ears aren't so bad after all. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I think the sound is so much like the M9 but better layering and DX320 overall has better software, so might be getting rid of my M9 now.
