Yeah the only difference is the hard drive space. Everything else should be the exact same.

I'm always a bit weary receiving an electronic item anywhere from china. If i were you i'd probably just spend an extra $10 and find a reputable local seller on eBay, but that's just me.

I'd suggest posting your music preferences and the source you listen from. Would give people a better idea as to what sort of sound signature may fit you best.

Are you ripping it from a cd you made using the 256kb mp3s prior to deleting it? If so, then I'm assuming you could either rip it as any of the lossless files mentioned above to retain the mp3s sound but if you decided to rip it as an mp3, aac or whatever it would further "dilute" the sound file...

I would go with either the S9 or J3 for the reasons mentioned above. They both sound practically the same. I have both J3 and S9 currently. Honestly, if there's a difference in sound, I'm not really catching it, but I usually use the players when on-the-go. The difference is sound is so small...

I'm not entirely sure on the value on your ipod video but I probably wouldn't sell it for less than $150.  I know there are ebay sellers who are charging 400-500 but that seems a bit outrageous, I would assume they are targeting buyers who are purchasing a new 5th/5.5 gen iPod in order to get it...
