    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Agreed. The boosted midbass destroys the listening experience.

you're gonna have to change your username to: b&o fanboy.   Yes, these headphones are amazing, they are my second favourite after T5p (gen 1).

So far the closest to my perfection is the original T5p, but you're right about the cables. I had a co-worker who had T5p, the cable broke soon after he bought them and he replaced it himself with good quality copper cable. I was under the impression that bass improved in comparison to stock...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

I couldn't resist and removed the little rubber tabs, I didn't through them away so I can always glue them back on.   I must say, it does change the sound for the better. I'm still not 100% sure if this is the sound I've been searching for but so far I think I like it. I'll have to give it...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Thanks for sharing your mod but I don't think I'm going to follow that path. I will attempt to sell them first as headphones are in great condition. I'm hoping without any modifications I can get enough to pay for the original T5p as they are much cheaper now.

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Thanks :-) I've auditioned the original T5p many times now and liked them every time. What stopped me from buying were: fear of sibilance on certain tracks, although I never encountered it myself, the reports from others about the weak bass which simply isn't the case, the hope that second...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

I decided to sell my T5p gen 2 after having these for about 5 months. Beyerdynamic wanted to please too many people with these headphones in my opinion, the result is: not for basshead, yet too warm, nor is it for treble head. I don't think I'm a treble head (well, maybe I am) but I just can't...

For what it's worth I've been using my T5p.2 in the open office environment and nobody complained. If you liked the original T5p another option to consider is B&O H6 gen 1. They are amazing for the money. I also found PM-3 uninspiring.

I think H6 v1 is one of the best headphones I heard and one of the reasons is tamed mid bass :-) a little more and things start getting muddy. I haven't heard v2 but from what I read looks like v1 would be my preference.

I just use the bag that came with my B&O H6. Usually I use H6 on the train and T5p in the office.

115-120 in balanced with T5p.2? Wow, I normally have it between 90 - 95 with high gain.
