Impedance, sensitivity and DACs
Thanks for all the detailed responses! So to summarize, it seems that one explanation is that there is a constant noise source (independent of signal volume), and this gets drowned out by a higher signal (due to higher resistance) on the iPhone 6, but not with the lightning connector. This is...- foges

Impedance, sensitivity and DACs
Hi Sound Science people, I'm considering picking up a Campfire Audio Andromeda, but after reading reviews and trying to match it with what I've learned from reading this sub-forum, I can't quite get things to line up. In particular, I'd like to drive them from my iPhone 7 (with a lightning...- foges

Switching from iSine 10 to Campfire Andromeda
Hi Head-Fi, I bought the iSine 10 about 6 months ago and really like the sound of them, but have been struggling to fall in love with them for two reasons: - Comfort: The over-the-ear clips bend my ears and the in-ear hooks often pop out (especially with the weight and hardness of the cipher...- foges

Recommend me IEMs < $400
Just wanted to follow up. I just pulled the trigger on the iSine 10. I was going back and forth between the iSine 10 and IBasso IT03 and probably read at least 20 pages in each of the 120+ page release threads for each headphone. In the end it came down to that people seemed more...- foges

Recommend me IEMs < $400
Thanks @Incarnation I'll take a look at the Trinity Audio PM4 and Ibasso IT03. Both of them are well bellow the $400, which would be nice. I've been reading more iSine10 reviews and people really seem to be liking them. I can't quite decide how much of a deal-breaker the lack of isolation is.- foges

Recommend me IEMs < $400
Thanks for the recommendations guys! I didn't even know about the iSine10's. They design is so-so, but the lightning cable DAC/amp is really appealing. There don't seem to be many reviews out there, but the reviews that exist are very convincing. Isolation seems to be a bit of a problem. I...- foges

Recommend me IEMs < $400
Hi Head-Fi'ers, I'm looking to get a pair of IEMs. Some information - They should cost less than $400. - It should be possible to drive them from an iPhone. - I mostly listen to Rock/Pop/Electronic/Indie music. I like headphones that can deliver a solid bass, but I don't like them to be...- foges

New pair of in ear monitors after 10 years
Hi Ike1985. Thank you for your suggestion. Looking around for flickenick I found this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/769843/fit-for-a-bat-flagship-iems-shootout-8-ct6e-7-h8p-6-jh13-5-k10-4-bd4-2-3-a12-2-w500-1-se5u Is that the one you meant? The IEMs they're comparing are > $1000, which is...- foges

New pair of in ear monitors after 10 years
It's been almost exactly 10 years since I bought my Shure E4C's. Unfortunately I lost them a couple of years ago and am now looking for a new pair of in-ears. I haven't kept up to date on recent developments, and so I was hoping head-fi'ers might be able to help me out with some advice. I...- foges

Spotify Invite
Hey guys, I hope this is not considered spam, if it is then I deeply apologize (and welcome any moderator to please delete this post)... I was wondering if anyone might have a Spotify (music streaming service offered in a limited number of European countries) invite to spare, I would be... -
B&O A8
I think they are great headphones. I had a real hard time trying to find some buds (ie not in ear or over the ear) that sound good, that was until i tried the A8's. Only thing is I am afraid of the very thin cable breaking, they could have made it a bit thicker. The 3.5mm jack already has a...- foges

MKIII + HD650 = No Improvement?
Checked that review and he didn't really say anything about the "intensity" of the bass, i would absolutely agree that the bass is quite accurate, it just not very present. What I mean is, I feel the violins are right next to me, but the bass drums are 30 meters away. Check out this thread, I...- foges

Recommend me a USB DAC
Well USB or Toslink doesn't really matter. If i get a USB powered one, then there will be one brick less attached to the power splitter thing though. I've been doing a bit of reading up and I think ill get the hotaudio WOW dual (then i can test both USB and Optical), any other opinions...- foges

MKIII + HD650 = No Improvement?
I have not yet come to "really enjoy the amp"/setup. From my experience with the record player though I learned that the source can make a large difference. My main problem with the current setup is that I find the sound to be somewhat bland or flat, it definitely lacks the punch, the highs are...- foges
