Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7 Discussion Thread
I believe the cup size is similar to their popular M50x. Perhaps a standard M50x set would be pretty close to what you need.- farstar

Experience with lendmeurears
Was interested in getting input from the forum on their experience with lend me ur ears. I had done an Amazon purchase from them for the Vsonic VSD3S (in green) which I feel is a fair set of IEMs for the price. No problems with this transaction. When I decided to try the TFZ Series 5 I...- farstar

IEMs more sensitive to distortion/clipping in poorly recorded/mastered tracks ?
I recently picked up the ATH IM-02 and I like them every bit as much, if not more, than the ER4-Ps. One thing I have noticed is that a number of acoustic tracks, especially ones with Piano, distort very often, especially in louder passages. I was concerned that the IM-02s were bad so I...- farstar

Audio-Technica ATH-A900X: Impressions, Reviews, Mods, etc.
Thanks for the input guys. I am still curious about the W5000Z that has just been released. I could do with a little less bass and be happy. Although the A900x is my favourite between the other I have (SRH840, MDR7520, XPT100, K550) it is a little boomy on the bass compared to my MDR-7520 or...- farstar

Audio-Technica ATH-A900X: Impressions, Reviews, Mods, etc.
I recently got the A900x from buydig. This is my first AT set and I have fallen in love with their "house sound" This is particularly true for the sound stage and the forward vocals. I want to move up the Audio Technica Ladder. I was looking at the W5000 and the W1000X/Z, but many reviewers...- farstar

Sony MDR-7520
I don't have the Shures, but I can attest to the 7520's isolation. I wear them while reading in bed. My wife is a lite sleeper and I have had to return other sets( like the Beryer DT-660s) because they leak. The 7520s are not a problem which is surprising for a set with light clamping...- farstar

Trying to break out of Mid-Fi purgatory.
Thanks for the tip. I am looking for a closed set though. I think I've found my open can needs with my HD600 and HD-800s.- farstar

Trying to break out of Mid-Fi purgatory.
When it was time to get a high end of open cans, the consensus was clear to me for my need. I got the HD800s on a good sale and I love them except for maybe that treble thing now and then but that's another thread. I want to move-on-up in the closed and portable area. I am riddled with mid...- farstar

Portabel on ear (or overear) for classical and folk (violin)
See the following post on the Beyerdynamic DT-660s. They are portable, foldable, easily driveable, and awesome for classical music. I bought a set based on David's post and agree with everything he says. ...- farstar

Fun easy to drive open set to compliment my HD800s
I did want to dip my toes in the planar world, but I want something that is easy to drive comfortable. Planars seem to be heavier as a rule. I also felt that buying at bottom of the price range in the planars might not give me a good show of what they are capable of. If it could be driven...- farstar

Fun easy to drive open set to compliment my HD800s
Thanks for your through and insightful reply. I decided to order the X2s on Amazon. They are backordered until Feb this year which gives me some time to consider things. I like the lower impedance and the innerfidelity review were the deciding factor.- farstar

Fun easy to drive open set to compliment my HD800s
I am considering the HD600s as they are on sale at buysonic, but it begs the question. In the last 14+ years has no-one developed a better set of open headphones in this price range ?- farstar

Fun easy to drive open set to compliment my HD800s
I love (mostly) my HD800s they are high maintenance though. Needs a good amp (I using the Matrix M-Stage) some mod it to handle the 6khz spike, etc , etc. I would like a fun set of cans I can take with me to the office each day when I don't like carting the whole setup there. Open and...- farstar

Sony MDR-7520
This post is titled: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bass. Between the praise my NVX XPT 100s and my HD600s get for being neutral I starting to question what a truly flat set sounds like. I dug up my Yamaha HS8 studio monitors to compare a song that was bothering me with the...- farstar
