I recently picked up the ATH IM-02 and I like them every bit as much, if not more, than the ER4-Ps. One thing I have noticed is that a number of acoustic tracks, especially ones with Piano, distort very often, especially in louder passages.

I was concerned that the IM-02s were bad so I imported the track into Audacity. Sure enough there was just the slightest bit of clipping and yellow/red in the VU meter where I was hearing the distortion/scratching. It's amazing how many tracks do this.

I don't seem to notice this as much with my HD800 or my ATH AD900x. Are IEMs just more sensitive/vulnerable to tracks with clipping ?
