Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Their product page refers to the EDX series and KZ EDX Pro X as well so it might need some updating. The box is probably right. Thanks for your thoughts on this set, it peaked my interest.- endgame4

My PR2 arrived yesterday in good condition. Ordered April 27, delivered may 27. No surprise the promised ‘12 day delivery’ was not even close to being met. Arguably, once it got actually sent it got here fairly fast. The PR2 sounds great and I am sure I will enjoy it. Mine is the version...- endgame4

Mine seems to be on the move now, behaving like a real order. Status is now ’Arrived at departure transport hub’. Tracking updates show on external sites like 17track too. KZ Global took their sweet time and will not get a favorable review. Next order will be from KZ Official again.- endgame4

I got my first update yesterday, ‘Processing at sorting center’. Today it has changed to ‘Processing delay at sorting center’. More trickery no doubt. The tracking number changed too. Order confirmed April 27, useless tracking number May 10, Processing May 17, Delay May 18.- endgame4

I like KZ IEM’s but I will never order from ‘global’ again. They are doing the ’fake tracking’ on me now. Ordered April 27th, ‘shipped’ May 9th and still no tracking information. Lesson learned.- endgame4

Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player
I truly hope you are still using this platform. My Q1 and M0 are great portable players and I hope you will do more devices like this. There are not that many options between high-end (expensive) and ultra cheap.- endgame4

No it is not. Rockbox does not use Linux or your kernel. Rockbox on the Q1 was based on Rockbox for the FiiO M3K which has very similar hardware. You could release the source code of the Shanling player app which you fully own. This would allow people to further enhance the player with niche...- endgame4

Are new MTouch devices planned? Perhaps you could look into open sourcing the firmware so people can make their own improvements.- endgame4

That is why I asked and wondered. @Jmop explicitly asked for wav and not flac. For flac (and mp3), gapless works quite well for me on the Q1 indeed.- endgame4

Does this work with WAV too? Other things (i.e. ReplayGain) do not seem to work with WAV. I think WAV is a fairly unusual use case for DAP's. Also WAV is a container not a codec so it could contain things like PCM audio or even MP3.- endgame4

Shanling Q1 - Retro-Styled Portable Hi-Fi Music Player
I posted that in July, but is worth repeating as it has gotten a lot better since. It is still a bit rough, especially because Rockbox is not greatly optimized for touchscreens. I recommend reading through the comments on the Q1 port on the Rockbox forum for some usability suggestions. The...- endgame4

Should you not just try all and see which you prefer? I do not think any of the filters are really more 'warm' than others.- endgame4
