The Android app is so buggy...it can be so frustrating.   And I find their whole playlist/radio thing very confusing.   But the library is great and offline listening works very well.  Can't understand how the app can be so buggy with their budget but anyways...

Yup, confirmed today, the Beta version Apple Music app plays out the micro USB port on my Nexus 5.  (Perhaps this was obvious, but not to me, I thought it was app specific).   (I'm using Marshmallow stock OS)   Thanks again for the info guys.   Guess it's worth keeping the Apple Music...

Thanks for the info. Yes there is DRM on the downloaded music from Apple Music. Still can't seem to find an answer on the web whether the Apple Music Android app will play digitally out of the micro USB to an external DAC. Will report back when I try it next week.

Does anyone know if tracks downloaded to be played offline with Apple Music can be played out the USB port to an external DAC?  I understand they are protected AAC (mp4) files and I assume they can't be easily played using Hibymusic or similar?     I am on an Android phone with Fiio Q1...

The Fiio "E17k Revolution without Equal Alpen EQ" and "E18 KUNLUN" are almost the same price on Amazon.ca....   Your recommendation would still be towards the E17k?    Thanks again, Mike

Hi, just picked up a pair of these and am very happy with the sound.   Found they needed a decent amount of EQ'ing within Neutron to bring out low mids of vocals, and I think I rolled back 250Hz, but bass is amazing right down to the bottom.    Using foam tips after experimenting with everything...
