Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone
I'm a bit puzzled by your experience, as I quite like them, and can listen for hours. I'm relatively new to the hobby, so maybe my ears aren't refined enough yet. Having said that, I'm driving them with an Audio-GD R2R-11 and all my music is in FLAC files and generally well recorded and...- dlmorgan999

Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11
This page shows how to set the jumper. I presume that if they show you how to do this, and it requires opening the case, that there is no warranty issue but I can't say for sure. Also per the main page, all Audio-GD products have a 10-year warranty.- dlmorgan999

Oficial? NFB-11.38 Special Limited Edition
I recently bought an R2R-11 and am very happy with it. Also the ordering process went quite smoothly. I needed another DAC / amp for another room in my house, so yesterday I ordered an NFB-11.38. I'm looking forward to comparing it with the R2R-11, and I'm also very interested to hear what...- dlmorgan999

Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11
I think what you want to do is leave the Foobar volume at full and turn down the overall Windows volume (or whatever operating system you are using). I believe that when I first installed the Amanero drivers, the volume was set to 100 in Windows. I normally run it at around 70-80.- dlmorgan999

Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11
Yeah - that's pretty sensitive. Maybe you can turn down the source volume? (like if you are feeding it from a PC, for example). Anyway - congratulations on the purchase! I thought about ordering one, but I've been buying too much stuff over the last month, so I'll have to pass on this. I'm...- dlmorgan999

My next DAC and amp
I'm very happy with The Element so far (and the volume knob is really nice!). That's why I am considering those, but I'm curious what if any difference there is between the amp in The Element and the EL amp.- dlmorgan999

My next DAC and amp
That's a brand I've never heard of. I have some flexibility in my budget, so I'll definitely check that one out. Thanks! And I know what you mean about popular vs. best-suited. ;-)- dlmorgan999

My next DAC and amp
Thanks for the pointers. I have spent the last 30 minutes or so looking through the for sale area ;-). That does seem like it might present some good opportunities. I just need to figure out which one(s) are well suited to my requirements.- dlmorgan999

My next DAC and amp
I recently got into the hobby and so far have purchased Audeze EL-8, beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO (my favorite so far!), and beyerdynamic T5P second generation headphones. I'm also in the current drops for the Sennheiser HD 6XX and Fostex TR-X00 Purpleheart headphones. I have a JDS Labs The...- dlmorgan999

Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11
I am considering buying an NFB-11. I see that there is currently a small production run of an NFB11-38 being done. It's $70 more than the 28 (with the TXCO added) and it appears that the only difference is the ES9038 vs the ES9028. I've done a bit of searching but so far haven't been able to...- dlmorgan999

Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone
I also got in on this deal and received the headphones on 5/17. They were being sold by a third-party, and before ordering I confirmed that they were indeed an authorized dealer. The listing was tagged as being discounted (I forget the exact wording). I'm glad you got in on the deal. These...- dlmorgan999

Audio GD NFB-11.28 vs R2R 11
I'm a relative newbie to the hobby (just a few weeks in). I recently bought some refurbished Audeze EL-8s, and yesterday I received my beyerdyamic DT 1990 PROs (WOW are they good!). I also signed up for the Sennheiser HD 6XX Massdrop. I'm currently using a JDS Labs The Element at work...- dlmorgan999
