Computer volume variation vs. DAC volume variation
Hi all. I tried searching forums for an answer to this, but wasn't able to find what I was looking for based on the wording. I just got my first DAC/headphone amp, the fiio e10k. Considering my wish to understand how everything works, I was curious what is the actual difference between...- ckunke002

Purpose of spring on Audio Technica M-50's
I've searched and can't seem to figure it out. Is this spring on all high(ish) end headphones? M-50's are my first pair of decently nice headphones, and I was just wondering what the purpose is. (I am referring to the spring coming out of the metal stereo jack piece insulating an inch or so of...- ckunke002

What's with all of the "burning in" talk?
Thanks for all the insight everyone! If they sound good now, and supposedly can sound better with proper burn in, i have a question to ask. At what volumes should music or pink noise be played to get good results? Louder than you would normally listen, or just average volumes?- ckunke002

What's with all of the "burning in" talk?
Everybody I've ever heard mention M-50's mutters something along the lines of the importance of burning them in before the start sounding good. I just got them as my first pair of nice headphones, and am absolutely loving them right off the bat. Maybe I'm just not as picky with my sound as some...- ckunke002

What kind of burning-in do M50's really need to do their best?
Quote: Hahahahahaha. Sorry, didn't mean to ask such a dumb question! I was sort of just asking what's the best way to do that, like through an iPod or computer or what, because things run out of batteries and such and people suggest 100's of hours of burning in so I jst wanted...- ckunke002

What kind of burning-in do M50's really need to do their best?
First off, I know this kind of question has been asked, but from everything I've read I still am wishy washy on a few things... 1. I just downloaded a 5 minute song (lol) of pink noise. What is the best way to get this repeating for hours on end through headphones to "burn them in" the...- ckunke002

Questions regarding headphone amps for a complete noob
I actually have put pretty much all of my "audio" spending money into my car instead of headphones and such. I was just saying that I use CDs in it and rarely my iPod. I don't think car audio is too hard to work around, it's just another case of audiophiles never being happy with "great", it has...- ckunke002

Questions regarding headphone amps for a complete noob
I might get that E7 eventually, but I've gotten almost unanimous agreement that the M50 benefit quite little from an amp so I'm just gonna get those for now.- ckunke002

Questions regarding headphone amps for a complete noob
Quote: Thank you for all this! I have learned a lot of this information over the past few months, seeking out ways to get the best audio possible, and basically deleting most of my itunes and reimporting the CD's i have back into it. I basically replaced all of my old low bitrate mp3s to...- ckunke002
