Thanks I actually used this as sort of a reference as to rather or not I should use a pair of low ohm headphones in my fiio e09k.   I wont, even on low gain setting I think I just might turn it on and hear a poof then nothing at all so better to be safe than sorry.

No I don't use my motherboards sound I have a sound card it is just an Asus Xonar DG, desktop amp is a Fiio E09K.
