It was DarkOne v3.1 skin on foobar that caught my eye when looking for an alternative to iTunes.   Still use it - I prefer it to v4.  Never seen a foobar skin look better, and got it tweaked just how I like it.

Just took a look at Foobar and it doesn't allow me to "Apply RG info to file content" when selecting FLACs, only MP3s.   Maybe I'm missing something - or just being dumb (and tired)...

OK, you've got a point there.   But one of the things I like about the X5 (having moved away from iPod) is drag and drop.  And that's pretty slow as it is - so having to apply ReplayGain again to the files after copying to X5 would be a faff.

That's right - I read (probably on this thread) that it's worth the price alone.  Even if I do get the E12, I might not use the kit as it doesn't look like it'll fit with the leather case on - and that case is smart.

I'm also in two minds over the E12, maybe I need some more convincing!   As I've said, the K550s need a bass boost, and I'm currently doing that with the aux on my E17 (set to 6).  With different settings to choose from (and also treble to adjust) I'm wondering whether I need that E12.  I know...
