played with my ipod classic and encountered no such problem. best advice: better return your item back to Apple as you may have a defective unit.

yah there! very noticeable if your switching from one bitrate to another. its kinda irritating isnt it? kind of like its gona ruin ur good set of cans hehehe sell the ipod classic and go get a better player! i know i did!
