Little Dot MKIII Tube Rolling
There's actually a special set of Mullard M8100's which had everything (bass, soundstage, treble, sweet mids) I've sold my Mk3 5 years ago and I regret it even now. I don't remember the specifications, but I got my advice on this thread and they indeed sounded absolutely the best.- azazell86

Grado Modders Go Nhoord?!?!
The Nhoord Drivers are amazing!!! How the hell can a pair of heaphones that I've put together with wood glue and a cheap soldering iron, can sound so amazing. It has it all: - fast and heavy bass - clear and crispy mids and highs - amazing detailed soundstage Since I've made them, they are my...- azazell86

Grado Modders Go Nhoord?!?!
I've received yesterday my Nhoord Red V2 Drivers + my Geekly L-Cush cups. So I was able to finish my cheap build inside the cups from a very old SR325 pair (this involved a broken scalpel, a bread knife and a freaking hammer). I'm really happy with the results, they sound absolutely amazing...- azazell86

Grado Modders Go Nhoord?!?!
Thanks for the advice DavidA. Jaco replied to me and said that he will ship the drivers by Monday next week, so I'll keep in mind the 3 weeks term you've mentioned. I've gotten an overall pretty good deal at the moment: 42 Euros the SR325 without the drivers 70 Euros the Nhoord Red V2 drivers 15...- azazell86

Grado Modders Go Nhoord?!?!
Hey fellas, let me join in on the fun. So, I've just bought a pair of Grado SR325 without the drivers and pads, all at 42 Euros: - headband - plastic gimbals - aluminium cups - plastic inlay sleeves - original cable with the 1/4 jack My intention is to have a great Grado set as cheap as...- azazell86

Android phones and USB DACs
I've done last night the following set-up: LG G4 with a 200Gb 90Mbps Micro SD card -> OTG USB Cable -> USB Cable -> Burson Conductor with the PCM DAC board with also using the Headphone Amp output -> Audeze LCD 2 & Sennheiser HD800. Initially I was using FLAC Files through the default Android...- azazell86

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
For rock you can go with Grado, especially if you want to listen while you're outside walking. Someone said 2 pages ago that the treble of the HD800 will remain piercing high - this is not true - depending on the frequency of use, the treble will subside at a normal level in aprox 2 years....you...- azazell86

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
I can really feel the difference between 320 Kbps Mp3's and normal FLAC's and also 24 bit Vinyl ripped FLAC of the same song. My example would be the Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever song - in which I can really feel quite a big chance from the different formats used to play the song. And...- azazell86

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
I have the Burson Conductor with both the SABRE DAC and the PMC DAC. The PMC DAC is an excellent match as it offers a very analog "meaty" sound. I find the HD800 a surgical headphone so the Conductor really sweetens the sound.- azazell86

Best "Starter" Headphones? - HiFiMan HE-400 / AKG K712 / Sennheiser HD650 / Sennheiser HD600
I would reccomend the HD600 as the start and end of your audio search. Add a cheap tube amp like the little dot mkiii and you will not need anything else. I'm saying this after selling my suggested set-up and getting the HD800 and the Burson Conductor amp and the sound difference is small...- azazell86

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
No thanks, I'n not going back to the Tenor and his upper harshness. Altough, I'm thinking of getting a quality optical cable but I'm still a bit unsure about the sound quality improvement. OPTICAL 4 LIFE, YO!! :)- azazell86

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
At least for the USB cable, I never felt it did one lick of difference. I can feel the difference between various RCA and even power cord cables but I never felt that the Usb cable has any audio advantage- azazell86

Burson Conductor - DAC/amp successor to the HA-160D
I have the PCM board installed. As I use the HD800 + Audio Technica AD900 headphones which are both cold and analitical headphones, the PCM DAC board eases the highs and ads a dose of realism/belivability to the sound. I like the PCM board better than the Sabre one, but as I'm using it for the...- azazell86

Maybe you did not install it properly. Lift it up, check the legs/pins and put it back again.- azazell86
