Master & Dynamic MH40 Over Ear Headphone
I was looking for a closed headphone and nearly pulled the trigger on the Fostex Purplehearts. Then I started reading about the MH40's (always loved their looks). It sounds like they are more up my alley sound wise. My favorite headphones to date are my HD650's and Meze 99 classics and...- Astropin

If you bought them new you got the bigger pads. The smaller pads have not been made for quite some time. Hell I bought a demo pair and got the bigger pads. Of course you could always measure them to make absolutely sure.- Astropin

Closed over-ear Headphones under 300 USD
So just an update on this. I still have the NAD Visio's but have recently picked up the Meze 99 Classics and they have supplanted the HP50's as my "go-to" closed headphones.- Astropin

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
So you appear to slightly prefer "brighter" headphones over "warmer" headphones.....I'm the opposite and much prefer "warmer" headphones. I had the Beyer DT 990 Pro's and while they were nice at first they very quickly wore out their welcome with their "sparkling" highs. I also prefer the...- Astropin

Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
So....a perfect match...albeit not the most "portable". The M1 hooked straight into the Meze 99 Classics. No additional amping (is that a word?) needed. Just got my 99 Classics today and plugged them into my M1....wow, plenty of juice for these very efficient headphones......love the sound...- Astropin

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
Just got my 99 Classics today. Found a demo pair at MusicDirect for $239 shipped and I have to say you would never know they were demo' d. Absolutely perfect condition and all accessories and boxing included. Bonus is they are probably mostly burned in. I own and love a pair of NAD Visio...- Astropin

Got my blue M1 from Massdrop yesterday. What a great little player. I had the M2 but sold it for the M1. No regrets at all and having the added bluetooth feature is a big bonus.- Astropin

Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
Except that while the HD6xx is exactly the same as the HD650 the K7xx is NOT the same as the K701. Most think it's better....quite a bit better.- Astropin

While there is certainly nothing illegal about it there is often a vast ocean between what is legal and what is ethical. A fool and his money are soon parted. But it takes an unethical person to do the separating.- Astropin

Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
Mine showed up today right on time. Unfortunately I was on the road all day so I'm just getting to them now. Listening to FLACS off my computer through an SMSL M6 DAC/AMP which has enough power. They sound great. Tomorrow I'll to some head to head against my K7xx's and Philips X1's.- Astropin
