FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Nuforce uDAC USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out
you can just turn it off (the blue l.e.d will stay on) by turning the knob all the way to the left until it clicks--- on another note, upgrading the usb cable put out a cleaner stereo image.- analogsonar

How do I convince people that audio cables DO NOT make a difference
speaker cables don't matter as much. as long as they are high quality copper that does not oxidize over time then you are good (100% copper and oxygen free). I have noticed more bass and slightly less treble when I use big speaker cables- spending more for ones that look good, have nice...- analogsonar

health issues associated with prolonged headphones use due to EMF pollution?
I think electromagnetic fields are naturally ocurring phenomena- though I am sure when they are charged they can do damage. I don't think cans have enough of the actual electricity component to do much harm. I wouldn't leave them on all day though. Just exercise and eat good.- analogsonar

Vinyl to Digital... USB Turntable?
turntable>receiver with phono stage>tape loop output to UCA202 (make sure your tape loop will output sound from phono stage) or turntable>ufo202 these behringer devices need no software and have decent A/D converters, and for around 25 bucks, it's a good deal-- analogsonar

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Nuforce uDAC USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out
like with any other component, synergy is the most important thing when comparing components. the udac with grados and even sensitive warm phones has a nice smooth sound signature, and using headphone amp is even better imo as it is slightly more direct signal , even though i usually use the...- analogsonar

won't recognize external usb drive
So I bought an enclosure for the hard drive from my old broken laptop and put it in an enclosure today and plugged it in, the hard drive is spinning and the enclosure shows an orange light. It came from a laptop that was using vista (it had a password, if it matters) and I am trying to plug it...- analogsonar

Poll: Audible Difference between FLAC and 320kbps MP3?
320 sounds good but a large part of the file is missing. ? It might depend on the equipment. I have A/B'd a few files using fubar, most recently Tool's undertow 320 and flac, the difference is mostly in space and air, more punchy, etc. It could also depend on the recording, alot of new stuff is...- analogsonar

thin speakers?
wharfedale's bookselfs are thin, and can be found at some good prices right now. 8.1 maybe? or 9.0? don't know how thin they are and haven't heard them but the woven style drivers look sweet.
