@ lee730, ABRockWell, turokrocks

I have bought a Sandisk Extreme 64GB SDXC and tried to format it to FAT32, but the computer says that it is too big for that format. This was apparently formatting it to FAT32, but afterwards Windows says that I have to format it to be able to use it.

How do I do this in Windows 7? Should I be making partitions? I don't seem to be able to do that.

I use guiformat to do it. Win7 will not on it's own format it to fat32

Thanks nc8000.

(To other head-fi'ers) I downloaded GUIformat from here:
http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm
- and it did it quickly and without any issues.

Just tried putting an album on it, and the HM-801 finds and plays it.

What is the recommended alloctation size for this?

I think I use 32kb but it should not matter as the files are so much larger than the allocation size so waisted space is minimal

Yeah I found out the hard way myself. I just got my 64GB card earlier today and it didn't have an option in windows to format it to FAT32. So I downloaded a program guformat.ex and it worked like a charm. I have my card filled to max capacity and using it in my Studio V as we speak :).

I guess you have the EQ turned on? This makes it freeze, skip and whatever.
You made a typo, but I'm not sure which : -)
Are you playing 24/192 files? FLAC files in 24/96 should play correctly.

24/196 does not exist. It's either 24/176 or 24/192. And I didn't think the dac chip in the 801 went higher than 24/96

I just got my HM-601 back from repair yesterday after almost have a year(!) and I feel tempted to finally install rockbox on my device.
So far I downloaded the rockbox.zip file, the bootloader and everything but I can't seem to find the latest firmware. My device currently runs 0.11 but I'm unable to find the .IMG for anything beyond 0.10.
Am I missing something here?

Still enjoying my Rockboxed 801 with JH13 and 128gb card.  Working well, and I now have a nice Mac OSX script that syncs my iTunes Playlists and files to the card.

This is the ThinBasic skin
