Ranking all the headphones I have would be really troublesome :p
But I did made a rank of "Top 10 Wood Headphones I have" in a Thai Facebook Group some times ago.

And the winner is ?

Perhaps ...

Damn ... the Vali Massdrop appearing ways sooner than I expected (I expected it to be somewhere in Q3). Looks like I'm set to miss this one again. Hopefully there will be another one in the Q3 or Q4.

I really want a Sapele Vali with Black Grill would be a "real brother" to the Sapele Odin in my collection.

Can @Kennerton Team share some light on this? Would it be available again in the future?
Hi, we do not know at this time. Will see how it goes. But, check pm :)

See for yourself :D

Note that I do not rank them purely from sound perspective. Some of these headphones really have soft spots in my heart. One of them started me into this hobby. A few of them made me good friends. Some of them got a little story. So, here they are: My "Top 12 Full Size Wood Headphones"

Great collection, Ithilienrp!

Not a winner, but twelve (and more) ... :)

Haha. The Odins are the top of the rank though. So, in a sense they are the winner of the winners. I love them so much that they dethroned the ATH-W3000ANV that has a lot of story with me (well, I also love its sound -- definitely the best of Audio Technica for me)

Hello everyone,

Alkalama, from the french forum HCFR (and TN), is very nice, he just revealed all my "secret links", source of information on Kennerton headphones; I thank him for it; Remains to follow these links! (wink)
http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/post179222653.html#p179222653

Otherwise I think we will soon have a name (and probably a price) to put on the new affordable closed-back headphone made by Kennerton.

Waiting! Not too long, I hope. (smile)

Hi.
My wooden headphones also have a story.
I still own (loaned to my brother) the beautiful headphone Audeze LCD-3F; I do not sell it because this headphone was offered to me by my father-in-law, unfortunately deceased since.
At the same time as the LCD3-F, I also owned a Stax SR-009 (certainly not wooden, you have to say it (smile)), but I got bored with it (not enough fun); I sold it to be able to participate in the purchase of a third Odin headphone, which was offered (with the help of Pierre Paya and André), as a donor, to another member of the HCFR forum, to reward him for several memorable reports of headphones on the French forum.
The second Odin headphone bought, the one in wood in Sapele, is the birthday present of my friends and my family for my 50th birthday.
Finally, the sublime Odin headphone made in Karelian birch wood (actually the 3rd Odin bought) remained for a long time in the realm of dream, until dream came true (thanks to Pierre Paya which kindly sold me this precious headphone to a friendly price) at the time there were only two copies of the Odin in Karelian birch: one to Pierre Paya (in France) and the second to M. Kazanzky (CEO of the brand Kennerton) in Saint Petersburg in Russia.

Hi again,

Seen on HCFR these images reported by Pierre Paya, from the stand Auris at the High-end in Munich 2017, concerning the new Auris amplifiers Headonia 2A3 and 300B (and also the Auris HA2 SE), here used with the Kennerton Odin, Vali and Magister Pro.
Stunning images that leave you dreaming ...

At the high-end, in Munich (May 18-21 2017) were present, from left to right: Mr Mikael Joe, chief financial officer of the Fischer/Kennerton companies, Mr Valentin Kazanzhi, director of Fischer/Kennerton, Mr Milomir Trosic, designer of all the products Auris audio and director of Auris Audio, Mr Vasily Berillo, sales Manager of Fischer/Kennerton.

Hmmm. The Magister Pro looks quite nice actually. I like the flatter wood cups. So much more elegant. If all the plastic parts are replaced with metal it'd be great. (IIRC, the fragile parts on the hinge are replaced, but not all). Might get one nonetheless. Being a completist collector is a pain to wallet most of the time.

Yes, it is preferable.

Otherwise, always concerning the Kennerton Magister headphones, here is a series of photos showing the main differences between Kennerton's 3 models: Magister; Magister LIGHT and Magister PRO.
(Note: the Magister PRO would have a attachment piece in metal in the headband, against plastic for the Magister LIGHT); The Magister PRO, with a flatter cup, has a conical inner diffuser, against small spikes for the Magister, and without small spikes for the Magister LIGHT); The Magister (and Magister PRO?) external cable (and internal wiring) are more qualitative than the Magister LIGHT).

EDIT:

For the Kennerton Team: where is presented the latest Kennerton closed-back headphone affordable for everyone?

Was it also present at the High-end in Munich 2017 ?

What would his name be? and, if possibly, its approximate price (in USD)?

Pictures, we want pictures, a lot of pictures of this affordable headphone, if possibly in full! (smile)

Kennerton Odin & Auris HA2-SE (by earphiles.org)

http://earphiles.org/2017/05/auris-ha2-se-review/
http://earphiles.org/2017/04/kennerton-odin-review/

Otherwise: " Auris HA-2 и Odin - этого достаточно для нирваны. Лучшего сочетания вы и не найдете
smile000.gif
Эти двое раскрывают друг друга на все 100%.
И кстати, как мне рассказали, наши Одины с недавних пор стали основными тестовыми наушниками у производителя Auris))) "

http://player.ru/showthread.php?t=142284&page=95&p=2193009&viewfull=1#post2193009

Translate :
"Auris HA-2 and Odin are enough for Nirvana. The best combination; You will not find two items that reveal each other at 100%
And by the way, as I was told, our Odins recently became the main test headphones of the Auris manufacturer".

So the Auris HA2 SE amp (an 2 K amp), the best possible combination to achieve Nirvana with the Odin?

Maybe yes?

or not ... (smile)

Unless you spend even more money with the Viva 2A3 amp (for the charm and magic of 2A3 tubes) or with the most expensive amp with the Viva Egoista 845 (for the rigor and exceptional performance of the 845 tubes)

Note the two excellent cables used with the Odin in this picture, above:
- on the left, in gray, the cable Vectura C in Litz wire, handmade and distributed by Pierre Paya (in France), giving even more clarity, "cleanliness" and transparency to the sound of the Odin, especially in the high (treble) for the clarity, and in the low for "cleanliness", compared to the already very good cable Kennerton stock of the Odin (better, for example than the stock cable of the Audeze LCD3F)
- on the right, in black, the improved version of the Kennerton cable for the Odin, recognizable with its silver-colored cable divider, also in Litz wire (Russian military grade); the improvement of clarity and transparency of this improved Kennerton cable is located between the Vectura C cable in Litz wire (from P Paya) and the Kennerton stock cable (not Litz wire) delivered with the Odin.
