So it can provide 240 + 240 mW from balanced output but only 60 + 60 from standard HO jack? It doesn't make sense...
If that is the case, 60 mW @ 16 ohm is nowhere near enough for T1.  The most compact headphone amp I could find that can drive T1 efficiently is FiiO E12 and it can supply 880mW@32Ω

SE it cant drive well my simple B&W P7. You will need a special connector to get it in balanced.

I would use balanced not SE. Which is 240mw + 240mw. I only use balanced for that player, even for my Grados I get them custom wired for 4.4mm balanced. All of my headphones I use balanced.

Just looked at the balanced xlr cable for these and it is $130 here in Europe. Anyone know of anywhere I can get one cheaper?

The Beyerdynamic cables are pretty good value. €130 is still €130 though. If you no longer need single ended a cheap option would be to cut off the TRS connector and replace it with an XLR. The connectors would only cost a couple of euros.

Oh well, I bought it, we will see.

Cancel it if you can as I am doubtful that it will work because the original are push and twist.

But it may be worth a punt.

This is a photo of my T5p.2s but I believe it's exactly the same setup for the T1.2s. As you can see, there is a very short "wind" on the plug as well as on the jack's entrance.
I've read that you can live without the "lock" function as long as you don't tug on the cables so it's only a matter of clearance. The OEM's visible metal portion looks a little bit short so my guess is that any generic plug will be longer and should fit...

I'd agree with that and would expect the cable dede4metal highlighted to work.

Incidentally, I've found that the OEM locking feature quickly wears when the cables are removed regularly so offers little advantage. Nevertheless the plugs stay in under normal use and having them pop out easily if the cable is snagged is no bad thing.

It will for sure snap in place, the problem is the wiring, I have tried with standard aux cables and although they snap in place no sound comes out, this is because the wiring of the T1.2 is not standard as you can see from this post.

Ah, I see what you mean.

The cable is identified as suitable for V-Moda 'phones that have the right and left connections available at each earcup connector, so the wiring won't suit the Beyers.

If you're into DIY this connector works perfectly with my T1.2

Hi guys, as a new cable for the T1.2, would this work?

I recently bought this cable: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201801275572  for my Focal Elear. After reading your discussion, I tried it with my T1 and it works. The plugs fit tightly and won't come out unless you pull hard.... Maybe this helps.
