I have been keeping my Diana in the leather pouch that came with it while I wait for an A6 case I ordered (and just shipped). I have been freakishly nervous about nicks and dents.

I really wish I weren't an impatient idiot. My case hasn't arrived in the mail yet. This is why I don't drive a new car, because I would be obsessing over every little scratch. I am trying to see if I can have a new faceplate sent. It looks like all you have to do is undo the back screws leave everything in place, pull off the old front plate and then screw the new one in. The sapphire screen protector looks to be fused to the front plate so it should be easy to fix. The blemishes on the lower right corner, and it seems as though a piece of dust got into this damn picture.

to be honest, I am liking Diana so much that I don't see the need to jump on V2 unless it is a large step up. Battery life is better than good. I don't need a touch screen. I have an Opus #1 and AK300 (plus the 300 does streaming) for that. The simplicity of Diana coupled with all her sonic abilities is reason enough to stay with her. As a side bonus, my Audeze Sine have a new life and not just relegated to Cipher cable only duty. For the first time I can remember I can go mobile with my DT880 600 ohm. HD650 / 700 / 800S all have a mobile capable of pushing them beyond the limit. And lastly my UERR have a detail monster equal to the task at hand.

My only concern is physical damage and for that I have a leather case (the so-so one provided) and an A6 on the way. The price isn't too far out of line for what the unit delivers either IMO. As always YMMV and sound quality is a subjective matter

I just wish that one day when LPG v2 is available, maybe we can get a glimpse of LPGD fw to turn LPG into LPGD :D Wishful thinking...

As an LPGD owner I was told not to flash the regular firmware because there will be no way back. Not that there isn't a way back, but rather the firmware to go back wont be provided

If anybody has a broken paw gold with a Flawless faceplate and sapphire glass, let me know.

Yeah, but if they need to upgrade the fw? Do you have to send your LPGD back for reflash?

As everybody aware, LPG and LPGD have an identical hardware, just a different fw. Wonder if they would have an "upgrade" program where you can send your LPG to be turned into LPGD. That would be pretty cool.

As of now there is no planned upgrade, so until there is I don't know what the procedure will be. Contacting The Evolution of Sound would be your best option to see if they would upgrade a non Diana unit. To be honest the only time I have needed the 6 db digital boost (that Diana has over the original) was when I had my 600 ohm dt 880s connected. all my other cans and IEMs need high gain or low gain only

I actually care more about reduction in hissing with sensitive IEMs, like Zeus XRA (per some people's claims). I had a brief chance to hear LPGD at CanJam NYC, but it was too loud at the show to compare the hissing level.

the most sensitive I own is a 13 year old set of Shure e5c (122dB) and they hiss slightly @ high gain. my UERR are silent.

Okay, you all know I scratched my Diana. What's a fair price, if I sell it to repurchase an umblemished one? It has about three weeks on it, and I am an OCD perfectionist.
