I've finished modding amp module design. Here's the details about parts inside AMP1 module.
-20 tantalum caps (forget the values sorry)
-2 x 470uF aluminum capacitor (Nichicon ones), soldered together
-2 dual opamps for voltage amplification (no info on opamp)
-4 dual opamps for buffering (no info on opamp)
I bought some AMP1 modules and tried modding around with it. I think having AMP module is a great idea for modding DX200 without voiding warranty since you can buy amp module to replace.
The amp module costs around $150 so I expect the mods will arrive sooner or later somewhere since I saw some people started modding it already. I think selling modded amp module at $250-300 would be a good upgrade price for many. Maybe $400-500 will be possible for some exceptional high quality works but higher than that would be over half of DX200 cost itself so I don't think it's possible for most DX200 users.
I'll buy AMP2 and examine it soon after coming back from Munich show. I'd love to mod current mode amplification with my preferred current feedback amplifier design too.
