USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
Those issues sound like deal killers to me. I am looking forward to more reports in the wild but this does not sound good. I am still bummed that FiiO is pretending that the Q3-MQA has no issues with DSD over DoP with the iphone 15. I guess if you ignore a problem then you don't have to fix...- originalsnuffy

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
I am assuming it can only play PCM from the SD card, not DSD. Would love to be wrong. Also, since it is a Shanling, will gapless work? I would love to be assured that it can handle DSD over DoP for the Iphone 15 Pro Max. My FIIO Q3-MQA can't do it; but my RU7 can.- originalsnuffy

Amazon launches Music HD with lossless streaming
So the solution to my issue with Amazon Music HD on IOS was fixed by deleting the app and reinstalling it. The downside is that my library needs to be downloaded again. However, the DAC once again is seeing above 48khz.- originalsnuffy

Amazon launches Music HD with lossless streaming
The issue with not being bit perfect is just that. I fully agree that Amazon Music HD is not bit perfect. To me it still sounds pretty close to the original. When 192khz is presented at 48 khz that is a very real issue and is a higher order issue than being bitperfect. The discussions here...- originalsnuffy

Amazon launches Music HD with lossless streaming
So here is a wonky scenario. I noticed my Amazon HD material was being limited to 24 -48 on my iphone with a Cayin RU7 dongle. I found this on the UK Amazon Music site: On iOS, disable the Alexa Wake Word feature in Settings to ensure playback through your DAC at the highest resolution. I...- originalsnuffy

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
I don't know much about an Honor phone. I gather it does not have circuitry to bypass Android limitations of 24 - 48. That could be an issue. Are you using a good app like UAPP (I don't have any Android devices right now but that app was very good). The fact that your dongles sound fine...- originalsnuffy

What have you looked at before reaching this conclusion? There are many very good dongles on the market so I view this comment with a bit of skepticism.- originalsnuffy

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
Gotta start with how much I appreciate the way you explain the issues you are considering. I also wish you success on this new device. I am a weirdo so I would want your next level device to be a serious contender to unseat great units such as the Cayin RU7. Or some of the others out...- originalsnuffy

Which IEM have you been most disappointed by?
Cool thread. We probably need one about which IEMs ended being better than you thought? In general what disappoints me is how hard it is to get a comfortable IEM. So many are so large they don't fit naturally into my ear. My old FKC8 pair fits in well, but even a relatively simple unit...- originalsnuffy

FLC Technology - New FLC 8N - Impressions Thread
Just thought I would share my experience with changing cables. I remember hearing that even though the 8D and 8N were 0.78, the actual size in the IEM is a bit smaller. Turns out to be true. I was able to insert 0.78 pins into the unit, but some force was required. When I decided to put...- originalsnuffy

DSD over DoP broken on iPhone 15 USB
So far I have not had any tips on what units will work. The developer of Neutron said his test units so work properly, but based on your comments at least two players have a problem.- originalsnuffy

LETSHUOER S12 - Next big planar? (Impressions & Discussion)
Tip rolling is such a personal thing. To make things even more complicated, there is a trade off between comfort and sound also. I have some tips that allow me to sleep or nap with the S12 in place. But the sound is not perfect; so I definitely am trading comfort for the ultimate fidelity...- originalsnuffy

LETSHUOER S12 - Next big planar? (Impressions & Discussion)
Has anybody had the shell on the original S12 come loose? I pulled it from my ears after a nap, and the shell opened up. So you could see into the unit internals. I popped it back in, but that seems rather janky. Any similar experiences or thoughts?- originalsnuffy

LETSHUOER S12 - Next big planar? (Impressions & Discussion)
Something that puzzles me is this. When I read the reviews of the S12 on Amazon, it almost looks like the original S12 gets overall better reviews than the Pro model. Is the original S12 the overall more popular model? I changed out my tips (Divinus as mentioned aboe) now the S12 is much...- originalsnuffy

Android: Neutron Music Player
I did not realize that we had this topic for the Android version of Neutron. In my Android days (usually involving some kind of a DAP) I had used UAPP but not Neutron. I am primarily an IOS user, but most of the comments about the user interface apply to the IOS version also. I am not using...- originalsnuffy
