Beyer DT770 Pro/ 80 Detachable cable MOD
Anyone know what happened to the originator of this thread, PETEREK? I sent him a cable I screwed up that he agreed to repair in April, and he seems to have gone radio silent since then. Cable wasn’t all that fancy or expensive, but he’s not responded to emails or PM’s. Hope he’s ok? This thread...- herbsandspices

Beyer DT770 Pro/ 80 Detachable cable MOD
Ok, so I think I figured things out! As it turns out, it wasn't the headphones (but now I have a new problem LOL)! When I tried the cable I made, the sound was crackly and quiet in the right ear. When I tried a premade cable, it wasn't crackly, but it was still quiet in the right ear. SO... as...- herbsandspices

Beyer DT770 Pro/ 80 Detachable cable MOD
Hi there, just tried this mod and something went funky with my DT770's. However... first, something that might help – it appears as though Beyerdynamic has changed the internal wiring, as all previous image had "tabs" which the wires were soldered too. Now, there is a very tiny circuit board...- herbsandspices

Livewires Vs. Freq.
Ty, I've been in the same quandary as you, although trying to decide between the LiveWire's and the FreQ Show. I think Powertoold said it best - flip a coin! john- herbsandspices

One vs Two vs Three Drivers
This is a great discussion, as more drivers usually means more $$$ - how much of that is marketing and how much is actually improvement upon the delivery of sound? I'm trying to decide between a 3-driver FreQ Show and a 2-driver Livewire, so this is either making my decision that much easier...- herbsandspices

Synergy between Portable Amps and IEMs - 9 IEM compared with 9 portable amps = 81 chances to mess up!
This is particularly interesting to me, as I'm deciding between Livewires & FreQ Shows, and despite the FreQ shows having three drivers with crossover, you rate the Livewires as being higher quality... any explanation? Really nice job, HA! Thanks for all your work! john- herbsandspices

IEM: Made in the US or EU?... now WHICH should I get?
Thanks, Revel. The Livewire's seem cool - the only advantage that the FreQ Show's seem to offer is the crossover - is it worth $100? You got me!- herbsandspices

IEM: Made in the US or EU?... now WHICH should I get?
Ok, after a lot of reading and talking to various companies, I've narrowed it down to a few different earphones: FreQ Show $349 Livewires $249 Both made in USA (although their drivers/speakers are made in China), both dual-driver, and both are well received here on Head-Fi . The FreQ Show...- herbsandspices

Hey all! I just found these forums, and WOW! Cool! I'm looking to get a pair of custom-molded IEM for all-around listening (work/travel/home), and wanted to stick to my usual efforts of trying to get something that's made in the USA or Europe. Westone : UM2/ES2 are made in USA...- herbsandspices
