Thank you, just wanted to make sure as my experience with different tips were completely opposite. He didn't get a chance to try different tips, just a quick listen with the tips already attached to the phones.- htsource

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread
I'm a proud owner of SE535 for about 2 weeks now, got my friend interested and he got a set tonight as well. First impression he said was too much bass and rolled off highs! Could the tips make too much bass? In my case, when I had the wrong tips, it actually sounded tiny and no bass, kinda...- htsource

Monster In-Ear Copper Pro earbuds
Over in Canada, they are quite expensive, I paid close to $400 for mine. Unfortunately these are going back to the store. I ended up for a pair of Shure SE535, they are more natual than Monster, I probably should have given more time with the Monster but for $50 more the Shure is definitely a...- htsource

Portable Amp for Shure Se535
I just picked up these in-ear phones yesterday, they sound great right out of iPhone/iPad. I tried with my Cary Xciter headphone amp and DAC combo, unfortunately they sound pretty bad for some reason. Is there such a thing as over driving with these in-ear phones? Sounds very muddy, too much...- htsource

Shure SE535: Reviews and First Impressions Thread
Glad to be a new owner of the SE535, I tried Monster Copper Pro but these Shure SE535's are in different level. SE535 is much more natural than the Monster, and more balanced bass. I like the design where you put the wires over the ears, fit better and fairly snug to the ears! The removable...- htsource

Monster In-Ear Copper Pro earbuds
Here's what I found the ranking from: http://www.head-fi.org/products/category/in-ear I'm trying different tips now, they seem to be fairly sensitive as far as with differen tips. They seem to make a good difference. I'll try to put through some test tones to burn them in. ...- htsource

Monster In-Ear Copper Pro earbuds
I bought a pair of Monster Copper Pro IEM to try out with my iPhone, iPad. First impression was too bassy, I mean too much! I tried with different tips now they sound pretty decent. Aside from the Monster, what else should I consider? I was wondering about the Sennheiser IE8 but I can't find...- htsource

Cary Xciter amp - right channel not working
Hi, I recently got a Cary Xciter amp for my HD-800 phones, few days ago it had developed some static noise in the right channel, follow by a loud pop then the right channel cuts out completely. I thought it was the tubes so I replaced them with another spare I have, same thing and now the...- htsource

Cary Audio Xciter - Integrated Amp / Headphone Amp (NEW)
Thank you, can I use Mullard 12AT7 in place of 12AX7? I also have a pair of Shuguang Black Bottle EL34's, wonder if I should get another pair of the same, or go for the Gold Lion KT88's.- htsource

Cary Audio Xciter - Integrated Amp / Headphone Amp (NEW)
I just got myself the Xciter amp and DAC, wow what a combo! I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-800's, as well as Totem Model 1 speakers. I don't know how long I can wait to tube roll, but I'm fairly new to tube rolling so not sure how much trouble I'll get myself into- htsource

Cary Audio Xciter Integrated 6L6
Would like to know how will this Cary Xciter used as headphone amp compared to others such as from WooAudio or others? I'm interested in getting this as it can drive my speakers on the desk as well. Is the DAC from Cary good as well? Thinking if it's an improvement over my Asus Xonar Essence...- htsource

The Sennheiser HD 800: The First Listen, The First Review
Are the HD800 out of stocks everywhere or at least in Canada? Looks like it will be weeks before I can get a set. Even some online places showing out of stock? Getting too popular perhaps? Too many are reading this thread- htsource

EML 5U4G Mesh Plate VS. NOS Tubes VS. Sophia Princess 274B Mesh Plate WA22
Not too sure, but the tube was tested good when I bought it. I'm new to tubes so not too sure all the details. The bottom of the tube does have some kinda white coating all over, I guess a sign of bad tube?- htsource

EML 5U4G Mesh Plate VS. NOS Tubes VS. Sophia Princess 274B Mesh Plate WA22
It sucks, I have a EML 5U4G rectifier just died on me. Replaced it with my old generic tube, what a difference. Will have to find another one, it was used when I bought it, don't think it lasted more than 50 hours total. Argh...- htsource

Xonar Essence STX as headphone amp
I picked up the Sonar STX card few days ago, still have the Prelude installed in the system. Going back and forth, definitely the STX gives cleaner and more punchier sound for my Sennheiser HD650 headphone. I'm very happy and some day I may upgrade the op-amps.- htsource

Xonar Essence STX as headphone amp
Just wondering if this Xonar sound card is decent as headphone amp for computer use? I have a pair of Sehenniser 650 so I'm hoping the card is enough to drive the 650's. I currently use Prelude sound card. Thanks.- htsource

Grant Fidelity A-534
Hi Ian, I'm very impressed with the bass output of the amp, it drives the headphones effortlessly. I was a bit concerned about the mids being muddy at first, but after some good A/B'ing, it's actually not muddy, but more warm sounding. I'm hoping to try out some new tubes in the near future...- htsource

Tube amps, why is there so much bass?
I believe the headphone stage is fed by the 300B power tubes. I'm trying to get some Telefunken tubes to compare.- htsource
