Ultimate Ears UE Pro Reference Remastered! (UERR)

Ok well after owning these for a couple of months I feel a duty to report at least a few thoughts. (I don't think of myself as enough of an audio expert to give a full review) I owned the original UERM for about 3 years prior to purchasing these and absolutely loved their sound from first...

Ultimate Ears UE Pro Reference Remastered! (UERR)

They are both customs. The RR is off of newer ear impressions so they fit better, although I've never had fit/seal issues with the UERMs.

Ultimate Ears UE Pro Reference Remastered! (UERR)

Yeah I definitely agree that the frequency response is flatter, more accurate, and more extended. It's more the way the frequencies are divided up that makes the imaging seem different to me, although probably more accurate. Like I said In my previous post, I'm afraid I've listened to the...

Ultimate Ears UE Pro Reference Remastered! (UERR)

Small update after listening for a few hours last night. At first they sounded kinda overly centralized and 2D, but I listened to them for a couple hours while editing and realized the soundstage is just much wider at the extremities which in contrast brings centralized mid sounds like 300hz to...

Ultimate Ears UE Pro Reference Remastered! (UERR)

Finally getting down to comparing the two, UERM and UERR, and digging for very exact, precise differences. They definitely both have very neutral flat sound signatures, but with some odd unique qualities that I can't quite pinpoint just yet. I'm afraid I've gotten too used to the UERM that the...

Ultimate Ears UE Pro Reference Remastered! (UERR)

For amping multi driver IEMs just make sure to get a low output impedance amp (less than 0.5 is best). Lots of people seem to like leckerton amps with these. Also the Chord Mojo is amazing with IEMs. If you're looking for a portable player the QP1R supposedly pairs the best with the UE reference...

Ultimate Ears UE Pro Reference Remastered! (UERR)

Just ordered these...I have the original UERM as well in perfect functioning order, so it should be interesting to compare the two directly as I haven't seen many direct comparisons. Looks like most sold them or didn't have the previous model or stuck with the previous one and didn't order new.

*NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT* Jerry Harvey Audio Lola™ Hybrid CIEM and Universal

You are correct, in fact the important numeric value isn't even area but conical volume which is even more reduced from 9.8mm  I see what they were trying to say though, but you're right, the cubic volume of air movement by dual 4.9mm drivers is far far less than that of a single 9.8mm driver.

*NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT* Jerry Harvey Audio Lola™ Hybrid CIEM and Universal

Does the Lola come standard with the carbon copper shell?  The pre-ordering system on the jhaudio website makes no mention of it, nor is it available as a shell option. I'm in the market for a new CIEM and these look like the right price and sound.

    JHAudio JH3X Pro

Just wondering if anybody has tested the new JH3X pro.  Haven't seen much on this model yet.  On paper it looks like a 10x3 but updated with FreqPhase.  I'm currently looking for a less expensive "backup" IEM for more casual listening, maybe working out etc, but haven't seen any threads on this...

Beats Solo3 Wireless - Impressions Thread

I think I can agree with what everybody has generally said so far.  My main listening rigs are my grace m9xx and AKG k7xx or UE in ear reference monitors. For critical listening work, I'm used to fairly neutral sounding stuff.  I tried out the Solo3s because I wanted a pair of lively sounding...

Need some help picking all in one DAC/AMP combo

Hello all!   Just need a little update.  Years ago I had an anedio D1, and later a D2 as my amp/dac combo.  Had to sell them because I went portable and got out of the desktop headphone game for a while.  Now I'm looking to get back into it and was thinking about purchasing another anedio D2...

No hissing here and I'm using Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors, which are probably some of the touchiest earphones out there.

Sorry I should link products that I'm referring to.  UERM is the Ultimate Ears In ear reference monitors.  The ODAC is the Objective DAC, I have the pre-built one from JDS Labs.  The P-51 refers to the Ray Samuels P-51 Mustang headphone amplifier.  Links below.   UERM...

Lately I've been using my p-51 as a portable amp at work with my macbook pro, ODAC, and UERMs.  I'll have to say this is a little match made in heaven.  The UERMs are pretty efficient but they need a fair bit of current to really fill out all the space that they're capable of.  I remember when...

Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors Review

One thing I will say about these is, while they are low impedance and quite sensitive, they do require a decent bit of current.  Most IEMs sound good unamped straight out of ipods, or other DAPs but I've noticed that these, while they don't sound BAD out of a DAP, they don't really sound a lot...

Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors Review

At the risk of getting flamed by anti cable people I will post this anyway.  I have noticed a slight difference in sound coming from the 48 vs 64" cables.  Now whether this is due to the difference in length or just a slight difference in the cable manufacturing is anybody's guess.  My A-B...

Most detailed, accurate, clear, neutral IEMs

It all comes down to how they're tuned.  There are some single drivers that sound great, and some multi drivers that sound great.  Likewise there are some multi drivers that sound terrible and some single drivers that sound awful too.  I will agree that more drivers doesn't necessarily mean...

So it's been about a month, and all I can say about these earphones is consistency, transparency, clarity, and realism.  I'm not going to get all starry eyed and say they're the most perfect IEM ever, that's not realistic at all.  What I will say is this, since their sound is so neutral they...

Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors Review

Exactly what I hear in these.  From song to song they change character and almost sound like a different earphone altogether. (not really but you know what I mean)  Bass isn't heavy, but it certainly isn't light either.  It's clean, clear, direct, with instantaneously quick punch.  The thing...

Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors Review

I've never heard the universal, but I can say with good confidence that the UERM is the clearest, cleanest, and most effortless sounding earphone i've heard.  I have never heard the SE846, but I have listened to several other's including the triple.fi10s, the UE-900s, several westone's, and the...

Custom IEM Review: Ultimate Ears Personal Reference Monitor – Your Sound

I kinda want these but at the same time I think I'd tune them in the exact same way as my in-ear reference monitors, so probably wouldn't be worth the cost lol.

Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors Review

Yeah I'll agree that these are very fit sensitive.  Mine were almost too tight when I first put them in but then I realized my glasses were just pushing on the wire pinching my ear.  Also my audiologist made sure to mold well past the 2nd bend in the ear canal meaning the sound bores fire...

Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors Review

I just wanted to post this pic to illustrate what I was referring to previously about the size of the ports.  In average_joe's original post they appear to be about 70/30, whereas in mine it appears more like 55/45 split between the Treble and Midrange drivers and the Bass driver...

Ultimate Ears In-Ear Reference Monitors Review

I'll have to upload some pictures too but I find these have quite a bit more bass than I was expecting them to have, based on what everybody has been saying.  This is a good thing cause I was actually expecting them to be bass light.     I am curious to see if UE has perhaps done some retuning...
