I'm no master woodworker by any means, but when I had MMGs I made some solid oak "T" stands out of 2x2 and painted them black to match. They probably raised them up by about 10 inches. Gave a taller image but you may lose a little bass.

@prosnowboarder I have a very similar system as yours. The Aegir is all the amp you need. Adding another one to run mono will make it play slightly cleaner and with a little more impact but then you lose the magic and sweetness of the single Aegir. both of my main speakers that get the most use...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

And the abuses of 100+ years ago have been eliminated through other labor laws and market conditions. I'm of the opinion that Milton Friedman and Dr Thomas Sowell are correct. Get rid of minimum wage. It prices low/no skill jobs out of the market that could be filled with mentally or physically...

So if it takes about a day to properly setup and take measurements on a single piece of gear, then a certain "science based" audio site that measures 2-3 products in a day - by one person..... Is doing it wrong.

My theory...Many US bars have one or more large refrigeration units that they use to store and dispense all of the beers they have on tap. So the fridge units will be set at a colder temp to accommodate everything else. To save money they probably don't want to have dedicated units just for...

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

Upgradeable DAC features are cool, but it's not like taking apart the Yggdrasil and reassembly is a 5 minute job. So something like different selectable DAC flavor modes would be cool for a one time installation, but then there would probably need to be a faceplate upgrade as well. Honestly...

The Cornwall is so easy to drive I wouldn't even bother with bi amping. I've hears a lot of Cornwalls over the decades and running 3-4w continuous with 10w peaks will be LOUD. A single Aegir is all you'll ever need.

You guys that have the latest Pi4.... Are you using the optional heatsinks on it? Maybe the latest firmware makes them not necessary? I still have a few Pi3's...I've been using one with the Digi + (or Pro, can't remember) HAT on it and it's worked well via coax out. Although my next step was to...

A few things to keep in mind about reviews from this "other forum". The guy measures stuff that is inaudible and doesn't matter. The guy gets measurement results that other measurement wizards can't seem to duplicate. The guy loves and recommends cheap chi-fi because by his methodology, it...

    Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread

Upgrade on a Yggdrasil will be like the upgrade I did from Gen 3 to Gen 5 USB. There's a schiit-ton of screws to remove which takes time but then the board is easy. I think the Gen 5 upgrade took me about 45 minutes because I was careful not to strip or lose any screws.

This subject has come up a few times before... If you own Magneplanars, the Aegir is NOT for you. I've tried Aegir on the MMG, and it's not worth the effort beyond satisfying the curiosity of a quick experiment. Mono Aegirs on Maggies still won't bring the power up into the range to give...

I still check in every day or two, mostly to check if Jason Stoddard has posted a new "Schiit Happened" chapter, or new product announcement. Same with "Baldr". Layaway is a pain in the ass for retailers. 30 years ago when I worked retail at a place that actually did layaway, the people that did layaway rarely picked up their stuff up within 30 days.
