    Earbuds Round-Up

I'm running the Serratus out of a iFi Blu and it seems fine.

    Earbuds Round-Up

Sorry for your bad experience. I have 20 year old buds that still work fine, I have recently bought about 15 sets of drivers with none DOA. Personal experience is one thing, but I am certainly not reading here or elsewhere that people are experience major quality issues. I hope you find what...

Which shell are you using. I found the 64 ohm Comp Ti. driver to be very muffled. Removing the stock damping pad improved it a tiny bit.

    Earbuds Round-Up

Great insight. Despite normally being a bit sensitive to treble I don't find the Serratus to be unpleasant. Most of my IEMs have much less treble so less treble is probably fine. It's a bit interesting. I am finding treble on IEMs and earbuds hits a bit differently. It's quite conceivable that I...

Thank you. That was wonderful. It seems the VE APWS is no longer available. Are there general opinions that other VE sets are of good quality and value?

    Earbuds Round-Up

Very interesting, how can I get my hands on a pair of Blue Moon earbuds? I am absolutely interesting in buying the best value sets I can. I absolutely love the details the Serratus offers with well produced music. Hahaha... absolutely, I would love to be your friend :) I am over the age of 50...

What is the secret of the treble in the Serratus?

    Earbuds Round-Up

I have just finished some baseline measurements on a bunch of drivers I bought. Most are lacking in treble. I will try modding the ones with more treble and see how I go. I am using a DIY coupler, but I am using the TGX Serratus as a reference point. The measurements are broadly correlating to...

Beautiful build. Are you able to share our tuning approach for the PET driver? I have a set on the way for a set of MX500 shells :)

I recently bought most of the same drivers. I have been assembling, but not yet started tuning.

It seems reasonable that foams that interfere with the seal between the earbud and the ear will result in a loss of bass. I haven't had the experience of foams reducing treble. Thanks heaps for your detailed response :)

What do people thing are the absolutely best diy buds? I love the resolution of the TGX Serratus. I have been building a few sets all using mx500 shells with drivers of various prices. I am very excited to see whether there is a diy option even better than the Serratus.

    DIY Earbuds

You are saying that full covers make the earbud sound different to donuts or no covers? Spent and hour or so comparing donuts and full covers on my TGX Serratus. I wasn't able to detect any difference at all. I guess that's good for me. I don't have to fuss about which covers to use.

Thank you. Aren't the foams acoustically transparent? Do you think sound differences are related to the foam thickness moving the driver closer or further away from our ear canal? I have made 3 DIY sets and and I have used the same thing donut foam for each.

    Doodlebug - USB Isolator

Reporting back in on the prototype build...   I had an issue with the part originally suggested for J1, but I believe that's been reported and addressed   LED direction markings are likely to confuse people.   All standard parts except for lower spec capacitors for C5 & C6 rather than the...

That would get my vote. I think it's great.   Initially, I thought the USB Trident would surely be trademarked or copyrighted, but I can't find it listed in the USB IF documentation linked below.   http://www.usb.org/developers/logo_license/USB-IF_TLA_Usage_Guidelines_082713.pdf
