    Earbud (not IEM) comparison list

Fantastic, thank you very much, it's a good basis for further research :) . Coming from the IEM world, the price buckets are different I see.

Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 Dual Carbon IEM...available in the US!

I use them from a Macbook Air and the Apple dongle for iPhone. I can hear slight differences but it's not like the iPhone can't drive them. Both require very low volume so apparently, both can drive them very easily. I would guess a better source would sound a bit better but it's not required...

    Earbud (not IEM) comparison list

Picking new headphones is a daunting task. Fortunately, for big over-the-ears or IEMs, we have good resources in the shape of various buying guides and lists. E.g., crinacle's huge IEM list. I'm thinking about getting some earbuds (not IEMs) so I'm curious, what's some resources on this topic...

    CustomArt FIBAE Impressions Thread

Seconded! I'm rocking the custom tips from Custom Art for about a year now, with various IEMs, for up to maybe six hours a day. It's wonderful to have this option for those of us who don't want CIEMs. I was contemplating getting CIEMs from the Custom Art a while ago (1. they rock, 2.they are...

Drop + JVC HA-FDX1 Dual Carbon IEM...available in the US!

If I'm quoting your post, you're the parent. GP=grandparent. Yeah, from Custom Art. I'm from a neighbour country so it's kinda obvious choice. But I totally recommend getting the customs. Good thing is that you can swap them to another IEMs, provided they have similarly wide nozzles.

Not GP but I use them with custom tips. Works wonderful.

Massdrop x Noble X Universal IEMs Review / Preview

They are loud enough from a smartphone so they don't _need_ an amp. But I have found them a bit brighter from a small amp (FiiO E10 Olympus), yes. But I suspect that's more of a pairing thing rather than power thing. Well, to my ears, this is kinda two-fold. They are very fast, just like a...

    Best dynamic driver IEMs?

    > Ye, comparing single DD vs. hydbrid, multi-BA is always "power Vs. synergy". Coincidentally, synergy or coherency are not the reasons why I'd prefer a single DD. For me, personally, I can see a few other reasons: 1. The closed nature of BA IEMs lead to a sort of woosh woosh sound when...

Yeah, it's a hybrid. I'm looking for an upgrade.

    Best dynamic driver IEMs?

When talking about high end DD IEMs, where do you guys think the IMR lineup stands? Is it worth the money upgrading from IMR R1 to Xelento?

Review by 'Tadeas' on item 'EarStudio HE100 High-Resolution Earphones'

This review builds on my first impressions I shared with you two weeks ago here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/new-earstudio-he100-high-resolution-earphones.912108/page-16#post-15139416 . I received the earphones as a part of the HEAD-FI giveaway that Radsone organized. While I received them...

    New: EarStudio HE100 High-Resolution Earphones

I can't find the Showcase for the HE100 where we should put the proper reviews. Is there one already? @radsone could you create it pls if it doesn't exist, yet?

    New: EarStudio HE100 High-Resolution Earphones

Yes, that's exactly what happens with custom ear tips. The tip itself, which is maybe 2 cm long, "ends" some 1-2 mm outside of the ear canal. Only the nozzle of the IEM is "inside" the tip, so the tip of the nozzle is maybe 2 mm in the ear canal. As a result, the rest of the IEM is indeed...

    New: EarStudio HE100 High-Resolution Earphones

I received mine as well. Here's a couple of photos (just a snap with a smartphone) and some random initial impressions. A proper review will require much more time, so I hope to get it out next week. Packaging Quite standard, nothing premium but not cheap, either. In the package, there are: *...

    New: EarStudio HE100 High-Resolution Earphones

    > HE100 will be the answer for those looking for earphones that deliver true original sound at $89. What, such innovation at this price or do I miss something? I'm definitely more than curious at the treble extension that the new three-level diaphragm should provide. You know, as a fan of...

    Personal listening IEM recommendations

    > The R1 Zenith is very attractive with the B stock price, but will IMR support out of warranty repairs on this model? No idea. They might respond to an email though. My IMR R1 (not Zenith) looks built like a tank though so personally I never felt the need to research this. Regarding the...

Have a look at IMR R1 (can be bought used or B stock for quite nice money) or the replacement, the R1 Zenith.

    Best Budget IEM (Under $300)

Do you have any experience with IEMs, or any points of reference? Like, what IEMs you had before, and what you did and did not like about them? If you don't have anything useful, I'd suggest starting with something cheaper with a dynamic driver (for the bass). Let's say, Massdrop Noble Luxe for...

    Mid centric iem’s

Shure SE535 is well knows for being very mid centric. Also, I have the Massdrop Noble X and it seems quite mid centric, too (and according to the reviewers). Not saying it's the best option for you, but something to research and maybe a point of comparison :) .

    Custom eartips advice/recommendations required

Not going to help you, but I just wanted to say that I'm in the same boat - contemplating getting custom ear tips. Here in Europe, we have options ranging from EUR 40 (Custom Art) to EUR 200 (Snugs). Of course, getting the impression is the harder part as you need to travel to see the doctor...
