La Figaro 339
Headfonia has a very nice review if you haven't already seen it and you want to be swayed even more towards purchasing this amp . I personally love mine. The only gripe I have with it is that it has no RCA outs for pre amp options though the phone out can be used for this with an adapter, does...- sgbwill2

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Interesting. Wish I could try it myself but my gear restricts me from this :D- sgbwill2

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
I'm pretty sure 24 bit is commonly used in recording and production. 32 bit no, not currently but why not have audio equipment capable of this for the future if 32 bit recordings do come about? (even if the difference over 24 bit is inaudible to humans)- sgbwill2

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
I have to sell the D18 first so I have a fair while to contemplate what to buy. Will the X20 be in a similar price range? Or has this information not been released yet.- sgbwill2

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
I read up on this a bit and yes the D18 can only play 24/192 because it doesn't use USB or I2s as you said. I think its a bit ridiculous that they state it is a 32 bit DAC when it doesn't actually have the inputs to support this. As I would have to buy a U12 to use the D18 anyway as a converter...- sgbwill2

Thanks. No it doesn't have an i2s input. Why would yulong advertise it as a 32bit/192khz DAC though?- sgbwill2

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Ok thank you. To exceed this would I need to change my source? and would it work in the way I am planning to use it? as a usb to optical converter. Sorry if these are noobie questions but I have no idea about this and I don't want to buy it and waste money if it doesn't do what I need it to do- sgbwill2

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Hi, guys. I recently purchased a Yulong D18 but the optical out on my sound card doesn't work therefore I was thinking of buying the U12 to convert USB out from my computer to optical. As I am not very good with this kind of stuff I was wondering if this would work? and would it be able to...- sgbwill2

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
Would love to but cant afford it at the moment as I have just bought the d18. Can only just afford 1 HA-200 as is but I'm going to hold off until I get a bit more money behind me. Balanced is definitely tempting me for the future though but think I will just get 1 HA-200 and if I really enjoy it...- sgbwill2

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
I talked to my dad about this and he agreed with you that it may work but the signal wouldn't be balanced and there is a potential for problems. RCA splitters are definitely the way to go with this unless I decide to buy 2 and go mono-block balanced. Thank you very much for your wisdom and help...- sgbwill2

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
Sorry I should have explained myself better. I'm not so bothered about it being balanced really I was just wondering whether it would work as I will already be using the RCA ports on the Yulong for my La Figaro 339 and was wondering if the XLR outs could be used instead of the coax or optical as...- sgbwill2

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
Thanks for that reply. I have very little electrical experience so I have no idea about this. According to the description it just states that the adapter can combine or split balanced audio signals and that the cable is 2-core shielded (no idea what this means :D) Theoretically I don't see why...- sgbwill2

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
Thanks for the swift reply. It's a shame that I cant go balanced without buying a second one as the d18 only has 1 pair of RCA outs. What would the result be if I were to use that adapter? would I only get sound from one channel or something like that? cheers.- sgbwill2

[Review] Nuforce HA-200 - affordable class-A monoblocks
Hi there, I realize this thread hasn't been active recently but I have a quick question about the HA-200 which I cant seem to find answers on. I am thinking of combining this amp (non-mono) with a Yulong D18 DAC but would like to run it using XLR's rather than the RCA connectors. I was wondering...- sgbwill2

Thoughts on a bunch of DACs (and why delta-sigma kinda sucks, just to get you to think about stuff)
Hello people, what are the most competitive DAC's around the £250 mark that can handle 24bit/192KHz recordings? Thanks- sgbwill2

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
I also noticed this. My denon 5k's and my other low impedence cans produced some pretty bad bass distortion when using 6sn7's and 6f8g's but with the 650's they sounded great (unless I cranked up the volume to 80%+). After replacing the 6sn7's with the 5687's the sound wasn't much different yet...- sgbwill2

DarkVoice 336e vs. Little Bear P8 - Near identical Chinese amps?
Never tried the 336SE but have read comparisons and the 339 is better, as to be expected with the price difference and use of better components etc. If you were to purchase the 336SE I would advise to upgrade the stock tubes as the chinese ones they provide are cheap and pretty terrible (the 339...- sgbwill2

DarkVoice 336e vs. Little Bear P8 - Near identical Chinese amps?
Ye its kinda expensive but its worth it. My previous amp was a little dot MKIII which was great at the price but the La Figaro is in a completely different league. You may also want to consider the LD MKIII as it fits within your budget. But if you are looking for a warmer sound the DV336SE is...- sgbwill2

Feliks-Audio ELISE...(previously 6SN7 + 6AS7G/6080 prototype)
There were previous issues with the old (orange) power supply resistors but these have been replaced in the newer models so that's no longer an issue now . I haven't heard about issues with the volume pot, there was a post on the Darkvoice 339 thread about a faulty volume pot but this was...- sgbwill2

DarkVoice 336e vs. Little Bear P8 - Near identical Chinese amps?
Build quality and components used in the 336 are far superior when looking at pictures of the internals. I wouldn't chance the Little bear personally and the 336 would be worth it for only $40-80 more. I haven't heard either amp but I own the La Figaro 339 which is essentially the 336's big...- sgbwill2
