Just saw Streetlight Manifesto for the second time on Saturday at the Masquerade in ATL.

​ The only album of theirs with decent dynamic range is the first album and the production on that one isn't exactly what I'd call high fidelity. And everything after that has lower than ideal dynamic range.

  I'm referring to the CD. I'm guessing you're referring to the vinyl? I guess the vinyl has a different master. I wish they would properly master the CD versions as the production otherwise is definitely good.

"Sonic Highways" is more compressed than Foo Fighters' first two albums and nearly the same as the rest. They all need to be remastered properly.

I can't say any music makes me cry, but Sparklehorse gets me pretty good (and it makes it even sadder since Mark Linkous is dead):

It's well-recorded, but it has crappy mastering, unfortunately. Too dynamically compressed. ​
