ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship
Does anyone have an opinion of the Atrium's ability to reproduce female vocals compared to the Auteur Classic? I've read that the Atrium has better resolving ability, but its limited treble presence compared to the Auteur is what has me thinking that the Auteur might be better in this case...- aviusmc

ZEN by DUNU: our first model designed around next-generation driver platform ECLIPSƎ
Thanks for your reply! Yeah that does say a lot actually, I'm gonna go for it. I saw in your review that you've tried several sources. Do you find that any of your DAPs are hiss-free with the Zen? It doesn't bother me too much since I'm used to the Zeus anyway, but I'm just curious. I have a...- aviusmc

ZEN by DUNU: our first model designed around next-generation driver platform ECLIPSƎ
I have an EE Zeus, which I love, but I need more BASS. I was looking at the Legend X but I heard that the mids are recessed, and plus they're so expensive. Will I be disappointed with the detail retrieval of the Zen? FWIW I do remember enjoying the Titan 3 some time back before it suddenly...- aviusmc

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
No, I wasn't trying to alter the sound quality, because actually the loss in transparency coming from silicone tips is what I noticed using the Comply tips. Sorry if I used the term muddy incorrectly. It feels to me like the songs I listen to are less coherent as a whole. Well for now I'm just...- aviusmc

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Does anyone know if CIEMs are tuned differently to account for a better seal? I want to upgrade, but my Zeus' sound muddy with comply tips so I'm worried about being unhappy with something that I can't switch tips on.- aviusmc

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
Did anyone purchase their Mojo from Apos Audio? They add a one-year warranty on top of the manufacturer's one-year warranty, which sounds really nice to me.- aviusmc

Best full-size headphones for electric guitar-focused songs?
Does anyone have a favorite when it comes to really bringing electric guitar to life? I haven't really set a budget for myself, so I'm just curious to hear about the experiences you guys have had. I'm probably looking for open headphones. Really all I listen to is Buckethead, so I'll post a few...- aviusmc

Fostex HP-A8 enough to drive the HiFiMAN HE-500?
Seems like a useful site, but I still don't really know how to interpret the technical measurements. The highest recommended amps for the HE-500 have a peak SPL of ~110-120 dB, with a variable damping factor. Paired with the HP-A8C, the HE-500's have an efficiency of 89.0 dB SPL/mW. ...- aviusmc

Fostex HP-A8 enough to drive the HiFiMAN HE-500?
I was looking at adding the HE-500's to my collection, but they're supposedly harder to drive than anything I've owned in the past. Is my HP-A8 (max output of 700mW at 32 ohm load according to manual) going to be sufficient to get the most out of these headphones? I don't really get all the...- aviusmc

Best solid state amp/dac in one unit
I'm about to order the Ultrasone Signature Pro or Signature DJ (haven't fully decided) headphones, and was looking for a little source/amp guidance. I was looking at the Fostex HP-A8 due to good reviews and the fact that I find the two-in-one package of the amp/dac to be very convenient...- aviusmc
