Analyzing Samsung UHQ Upscaler with measurements (on Galaxy Note 8 Exynos)

Good observation. I suspect the SRC (Sample Rate Converter) of Android is what's making the difference appear. Doesn't have any good fame I will redo the tests diferenciating AudioTrack (default) and OpenSL ES audio APIs

Analyzing Samsung UHQ Upscaler with measurements (on Galaxy Note 8 Exynos)

Well, I guess I have to make a blind test and analyze the results. Thanks for the input!

Analyzing Samsung UHQ Upscaler with measurements (on Galaxy Note 8 Exynos)

My typical music listening scenario is more like the second one, at low volume. And there, I really notice the difference in noise floor and detail when changing between Bit upscaling and no effects. But I might try making a blind test to confirm it. I wanted to give my grain of sand to this...

Analyzing Samsung UHQ Upscaler with measurements (on Galaxy Note 8 Exynos)

Hello guys, since I've bought my Galaxy Note 8, I have been extensively trying each and every sound option available on settings. And I saw this one called Samsung UHQ Upscaler. I looked up some info about it and it seems to upscale all audio to 32 bits, but I found two options underneath this...

    Micro iUSB3.0 Impressions Thread

It's normal. The first revision of iPower has that particular issue. Ask iFi for a replacement and problem solved. Also, the new version sounds better, slightly less bright and more relaxed. But one thing to note, iPower Rev.2 introduces noise in your system when there is no ground, so make...

iFi Audio latest [TOP_SECRET] product. What is it?

According to design, I would say this is from the unreleased "mini" series, an order of magnitude higher than "micro" series. Considering colors, I would say it is a DSD1024 DAC (considering this new red light) in the middle and all together make a stack full of new products.

iFi iDSD Micro DSD512 / PCM768 DAC and Headphone Amp. Impressions, Reviews and Comments.

Charging is done through the same USB input you use to connect it to your source, so it will charge if you leave it connected to your PC using the included blue cable.   Regards, Rafa

Reply to review by 'rafaelpernil' on item 'iFi Audio iTube'

@FastAndClean Yess it still sounds marvelous even with its built-in CD player. It has 20 years on its back but aged very well! I am in love with these sweet speakers and their crystal clear mids.

What the $^&# heck is it?.........iFi iEMatch!

The problem is related with digital volume control before it gets into DAC/Amp, not digital volume control for the amplifier (direct connection with the hardware to control the gain, like HTC One M8 with a Faux Sound compatible kernel). With many android devices, amplifier gain is fixed and...

What the $^&# heck is it?.........iFi iEMatch!

I think it's too soon to answer that question. From my experience with iDSD's built-in iEMatch, it requires some burn in. But in theory it shouldn't if you fulfill the 1/8th rule (more info by NwAvGuy here http://nwavguy.blogspot.com.es/2011/02/headphone-amp-impedance.html). For High sensitivity...

What the $^&# heck is it?.........iFi iEMatch!

I have just received it and tested it with my RE-600 and it does what it says! Lowers hiss and increases dynamics. But somehow I feel it needs some burn in to perform at its best. It includes a pair of ear plugs, an airplane adapter and a nice travel pouch made of fabric. And overall the build...

If v2.26 driver version doesn't work for you, try with v2.23. When I had Win 7, v2.23 ran perfectly fine.   Hope it helps ;)
