Feedback by 'Crispy808' on listing 'Schiit Vali 2 (w/ 5 tubes)'

Seller had excellent communication during the transaction. The payment process was quick and easy. Items were as described and packaged well. I would definitely do business with this member again.

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Doesn't the PS2 have a line out? If you used it as a preamp wouldn't you get the best of both amps?

Let's Catch A Thief!! (Update: CAUGHT!)

I hope anyone who is willing to spend $15K+ frequents audio message boards.  This should be posted on all forums.    Edit:  Whoops.  I didn't read through the whole thread.

Who else pre-ordered the Project Ember from Garage 1217?

I too am waiting on the Ember for my HE-500s.  Does anyone know what the kit price will be?

    THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD

Kamakahah: I am considering adding some sort of hook for cable management.   Thanks everyone for the positive feedback!

Thanks Fraggier!  I wish I had tools for metal work.  If I had access to a milling machine, I'd be set to make almost anything.

My O2/ODAC build as I was unsatisfied with the original layout.

O2/ODAC combined in the same enclosure.  First ever DIY build which made for a good learning experience.   Front: Rear:  (Note the RCA outputs above the ODAC USB input.  I opted for an external connection in the event I decide to try a different amp) Perspective w/the top off...

    THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD

Here's my stand for my HE-500s.  Made with basic tools: tablesaw, jigsaw, drill, and router.  Shellac on the base, spray can on top, and everything coated with polyurethane.  I may go back and use rubbing poly as the current finish isn't as smooth as I'd like.       Took the...

    New Tube/Hybrid Amplifier

I've been looking at this amp to pair with my HE-500s.  Judging by your impressions with the HE-6, I can't imagine they wouldn't have good synergy as well.   How does the stock tube compare to the Mullard?  I've never tried tube rolling, but I can imagine it can get pretty expensive.

    New Tube/Hybrid Amplifier

I'm amazed to hear this amp can drive the HE-6.  General consensus around here says these need a high powered amp.

[Review] Indeed G3 Modded Hybrid Tube Amp

Great review.  This looks very similar to the Project Sunrise II, but priced for much less.  Regardless, both designs seem to be have very good sound quality for the money.

    Hifiman ef5 or Objective2 for HE-500?

To my ears, the O2 has sufficient power for the HE-500s.  I have no other amp to compare to, so it's hard to tell whether these are being under-driven.  Per the link below, I'd say they are.   I've been looking at Garage 1217 amps as an upgrade.  The Project Sunrise II is said to have very...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

Quote:   Since you're equating $$$$ to quality, the PSII is no longer a viable amp because it sits at a $200 price point? Loevhagen seems to prefer this amp to his $1000 V200, so naturally, I'm intrigued because of the price difference with my only concern being meeting the 1 watt...

Quote:   You mention "low quality 200usd amp."  I assume you are talking about the PSII?  Have you heard this with the HE-500 for yourself?

Quote:   Do you feel the HE-500's to be at all underpowered by the PSII?  I feel like my O2 can drive these decently, but I'm curious about more power since I'm driving these below the 1 watt recommendation.

I want to build my first amp, thinking O2, but have a question about fitting into a different case...

To FraGGleR:  How did you wire the 1/4" headphone jack to P2?  I know the first two pads closest to the edge are ground, but of the remaining two pads, which correspond to left and right?  Thanks.

    O2 AMP + ODAC

I'm adding a 1/4" Neutrik headphone jack to my O2, but I'm not sure how to wire to P2.   Per the designer's site, "for P2 the two pads closest to the edge of the board are ground."  Which of the other two pads correspond to the right and left channels?

Cost efficient but not underpowered amp for HE-500

Quote: Yes, I am taking about the Sunrise II. It's interesting to me because there is the option for DIY at only $200.
