    Sennheiser HD518 HD558 HD598 HD559 HD589 HD579 HD599 Support Thread

Bought a pair off 558s on an impulse yesterday at Best Buy for $143, also ordered a Fiio E7 to power them.  I can't say too much until I try them with an amp, but I am really liking the the airy-ness they have.

    Bicycle-Fi!

Quote: Nonsense, I just went for a ride yesterday in the snow, it was a little scary and probably not the best idea but it was fun.   Last weekend I went for a ride and the entire trail was covered in an inch thick layer of ice but I luckily remebered my studded tires so it was like riding...

    Bicycle-Fi!

Quote: If you are looking to keep it cheap then get the simplest bike you can, bikes in the low hundreds are cheap as is but when a manufacturer makes a bike with suspension and gears at that kind of price they end up being pretty much **** - no exceptions.  Your best bet is to find...

What about the audio system of Aston Martin Vantage V12?

The only audio you should be listening to in a car like that is the exhaust sound.

How is that frame made?  It looks like it was just CNC'd from one big chunk of magnesium but that seems a little crazy.

    knife-fi?

I always carry around at least a small knife even when I am at work because I have just always had one on me from when I was in the boy scouts.  http://dx.com/p/cool-folding-credit-card-style-safety-knife-black-145623     This is an awesome knife and insanely sharp but fits in a wallet and has...

Will that be a fixie or single speed?  Either way that is an awesome bike, I have a couple older Schwinn road frames lurking in my basement and they are some of the best bikes made, at least the old ones anyways.

    Post your computer specs!~

Do you have the DX11 update and the high res texture packs?  It makes a huge difference in the look of the game but it does take a performance hit of course.

Every time you touch your brakes you don't have to squeeze them to the bar, just apply enough pressure to BOTH to slow down just as you wouldn't put your foot to the floor braking in a car, the same goes for bikes.  If your on ice, don't brake unless you have studded tires otherwise you will go...

    Bicycle-Fi!

As for braking you should use two fingers on the levers rather than your whole hand and if you have disc brakes only one finger is more than enough to work the brakes and you should be using both your brakes to stop regardless of what you are doing as that's what their there for.  Using only the...

    Pipe and tobacco-fi (a gentleman's hobby)

I'm not much of a smoker but want to try pipes, can anyone make some suggestions on what would be good to start with as well as good tobacco to start with as well.

    Bicycle-Fi!

I have looked before but I can't seem to find any because it is still too new.  As long as you aren't doing any mountain biking with it you can use industrial velcro attached to a cheap case and connect it to a flashlight or some sort of mount to put it on your handlebars, that's what I do for...

I was unsure about belt drives and internal hubs but after seeing this video I think they are comparable to chains if not stronger http://www.pinkbike.com/news/White-Balance-video-2012.html

I haven't tried steam either but I have played some modern 3D games in Ubuntu and they do run much better than in Windows if you have a lower powered computer.  Unfortunantely there are just not that many games yet but it has come a long way in the last couple of years so Steam should really...

    Mouse -Fi

Is that the new death adder?  I have last years model and it feels amazing, people always think I'm weird using a full sized wired mouse when they see me out with it, but there is just no way in hell I could ever go back to one of those cheap little travel mice.

How cold is the weather where you live?  I ride all year round as well and several times during blizzards at night and temperature as low as -23C and my derrailleurs never froze up although my Camelback did freeze solid.  Do you grease your cables before installing them, if there was any water I...

    Bicycle-Fi!

I personally prefer a chain driven bike, but for some people they don't want to take 30 seconds to grease a chain every other week or have to deal with the mess.  Belts are nice because you never have to think about them and they always just work, however what I don't like about them is that...

Yep, I always loved linux mint, it was the first linux OS I ever used but I now run Ubuntu on all my machines and the only reason I  keep windows around is to play games but that will soon change with steam on ubuntu.

You might be better off with a belt driven bike as you will get the same benefits but they are more common and thus parts are easier to come by and they have no maintenance not to mention far simpler and smoother.

    car-fi

I just got some brand new tires and came out this morning to find my front left tire to be completely flat, I filled it up and it held until I could get to a local gas station and when I did it was already looking pretty flat.  I threw a can of fix-a-flat in it and it seems to be holding ok at...

No, I have to convert the media as I get it because my server isn't powerful enough to do on the fly transcoding for multiple devices so I just use my gaming PC to take advantage of the GPUs to transcode the video quickly before uploading to the server.  I suggest freemake video converter as it...

    Bicycle-Fi!

I haven't ridden one, but I have heard that they are super smooth and very effecient at getting the power to the wheel.  They are fairly resistant to problems, but when they do have them they are a HUGE pain to fix and very few bike shops will carry parts for them not to mention there are no...

    Bicycle-Fi!

Cool, thanks for that I'll give it a try when I have some time.  The reason I need to use something to keep the chain tension is because it is on a full suspension bike so as the suspension cycles the chain is stretched so you need to have a longer chain so that the suspension can move freely in...
