LG V20 Sound Quality
Spoke too soon! Found this high impedance adapter which will be perfect for those using headphones with a quarter inch cable and don't want multiple adapters on at all times to get into high gain mode. http://www.musicalparadise.ca/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=66 ...- AlexLacasse

LG V20 Sound Quality
Awesome! I wonder if they make quarter inch to 3.5 version of this high impedance adapter??? My hifiman he-500 have a quarter inch cable and would be great if I could plug the headphones in without having to have 2 adapter on at all times with this trick...- AlexLacasse

LG V20 Sound Quality
This is awesome. Can't wait to try this trick. Only small issue is that my headphones have a quarter inch cable, so that means it will always have two adapters in the phone at any given time...- AlexLacasse

LG V20 Sound Quality
Hi, thanks for posting this. But I have a question. Aren't these adapters simply switching the phone into AUX mode and NOT high impedance mode? To clarify, with these adapters, under your hifi settings, does it say AUX mode or high impedance device mode? This is key. If in the...- AlexLacasse

Favourite phone for audio quality are the new Sony xperia AX. It has custom eq, XLOUD which boosts volume, and clear audio +. It's definitely better than the beats audio gimmick from HTC :)- AlexLacasse

Why Beats Audio is very misleading.
Beats audio is definitely just a gimmick. Best phone for audio is sony xperias latest crop. Comes with custom EQ, XLoud which increases volume, and clear audio +- AlexLacasse

JVC/Victor FX700 - The Successor (early Easter Bunny brought something very nice!)
I've tried some comply tips with my new JVC fx-700 and they sound great. Tames the treble down a bit and brings out the bass even more!- AlexLacasse

HTC Windows Phone 8X "Experience audio entertainment exclusively with built-in Beats Audio technology"
Beats audio is a gimmick. It's basically an eq setting with booster bass and vocals. It's easier to just use a custom EQ, turn up the gain and adjust the eq yourself to whatever setting you want! Sony's new xperia's with Xloud, clearaudio+ and custom EQ's are the best combination for phone audio- AlexLacasse

HTC One X
I have an htc one X and the sound quality isn't the greatest. If you search on GSM arena, they have audio quality tests done on every phone.. The new HTC one X+ is said to be much better for audio quality, and the new HTC droid DNA has 2 additional amps built in for speaker and headphones- AlexLacasse

Monster Turbines vs Monster Diddy Beats.
Diddy beats are surprisingly good. But the trubines are definitely a notch above. The turbine Golds are a great alternative for only slightly more $- AlexLacasse

QUICK: SE535, Westone UM3X, or Westone 4Rs?
I've heard both the IM3X and the se-535's. The UM3X were the better ones for me. Very warm, better bass, and very intimate. The se535's sound very cold in comparison, and kind of boring.- AlexLacasse

New Miles Davis Trumpet (not Tribute) earphones
I've tried both the trumpets and the tributes, and I much prefer the Tributes. The trumpet's are a little too harsh for me and the bass on the miles davis tributes is incredible. The mids are also super nice on the tribute. SO warm and engaging. Every song is exciting, and it excels in every genre!!- AlexLacasse

Shure SE535 Special Edition (Red) vs Regular SE535 (Bronze/Clear)?
I wonder if the reds have more bass than the regular bronze edition. That's always been the drawback for me with these mid-centric IEM's. Hard to find an IEM with amazing bass and forward mids- AlexLacasse

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)
I've tried them all and the JVC fx-700 are definitely the best. Crazy bass, amazing timbre, and some of the clearest highs around. The ex-1000 are extremely revealing and can be very harsh when listening to pop music. Not very forgiving with low bit rate tracks- AlexLacasse
