Source Volume Levels?
I was experimenting with the volume levels on my source lately and I noticed a phenomenon. I typically listen with my Gilmore Lite at around 9:30 (with most recordings), and my Fubar II USB DAC source at 100%. Today I tried turning down my source, and I noticed that the top 30% of the...- cvince

How to heal a scraped face
Thanks for the input guys! I guess the gist is to keep it hydrated, disinfected, and bandaged. I've done the first two, but don't have bandages/gauze handy. Quote: Originally Posted by cash68 PS: Chicks dig scars. Quote: Originally Posted by RockCity Walk...- cvince

How to heal a scraped face
Well.. I went skiing on saturday, and there was a sudden increase in grade that I noticed a bit too late. I flew for a few seconds before hitting the ground, and scraped my face-first in the icy snow at a very high speed. The end result: I have a few (hundred) tiny scratches on my face...- cvince

UBC head-fi meet --how many out there?
So far I've seen two Koss PortaPros, a K181DJ, and three K26Ps on campus. Not entirely sure if the owners of these porta rigs are all head-fi members, but it's a safe bet I'm not the only one with a sick rig here. If there are more of you out there (even if it's just two more of us), we...- cvince

What do you do while listening to headphones??
I sit down, close my eyes, turn off the lights, and get lost in the music. I see I'm one of the few here who actually devotes 100% attention to the music.- cvince

then wouldn't spending ~$300 on a half decent power conditioner be a better idea than spending $1k on a power cable? lol -
The advantage of aftermarket power cables
I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to aftermarket power cables, but I realize a lot of people are noticing an audible difference in their system. I haven't had experience listening to aftermarket power cables, nor have I found much information that will convince me that they actually do offer...- cvince

Guide to wash 701/650 velour pad
I use thermasilk as my volumizing shampoo. I swear it has opened up the sound of my headphones, because the cups now sit more firmly on my ears. Now I wonder what something more expensive like redken volume up shampoo will do to my pads. I Might even step it up a notch, and get some of...- cvince

Audio-Technica ATH-ES7
yes the mids do sound like they are played through cups, but the coloration isn't that strong to my ears. The thing I love most about the ES7s is that they can be played very loud, and they will still not sound harsh or offensive. They just get more detailed.- cvince

I just recieved the OPA2107AP. I don't know what you guys are saying by it not being a night and day difference. Immediately I notice that ALMOST ALL of the harshness that was once there is gone! For most recordings, I can turn the volume up to 12:00 on my Gilmore Lite without ringing in...- cvince
