EMU 0404 USB - really the best?
I have an EMU 0404 USB - packed away somewhere. To me it sounded a bit lean and am now using a Cambridge CXA80 which is a Wolfson DAC, headphone amp, and stereo amp so serves me better.- Schonen

Ever read this article? Read it if you haven't, it is about what you are talking about. http://www.stereophile.com/content/carver-challenge "But whatever Bob, and others who can match his technical virtuosity, choose to do with the results of this project, I think that the field of...- Schonen

AKG K812 Pro
I dismissed them because they are $2,200.00 in Canada. I would rather buy Q701 for a reasonable $350.00 CAD.- Schonen

IS HD650 or T90 an upgrade to Denon D2000 ? worth buying if i already have D2000 ?
For the effect the OP wants he needs a headphone with very good mids and sweet highs and very good soundstage. I haven't heard these but from what I have read these may be up your alley. https://www.amazon.com/AKG-Signature-Reference-Class-Premium-Headphones/dp/B004444OFK- Schonen

What is the best music player (software)?
I've been using Mixxx DJ software recently when I stumbled upon it by accident. Has lots of features, including asio support, and is stellar for free. http://mixxx.org/ Another player I like and sometimes use is 1by1, it is a directory player instead of a playlist/tag player. ...- Schonen

What is BEST over the ear Headphone ?
If you are interested in the Senn HD598 and want to save some money then just buy the HD558 model instead, exact same driver with a bit of material added to block a bit of the highs which can be removed if wanted. I use mine stock though and perfectly happy with them, I did own HD598 too but...- Schonen

Sennheiser Momentum impressions thread
Nice SQ but bad comfort for my big ears so never bought them. 5xx Senns are more to my liking due to great comfort and also more pronounced mids on 558 and 598.- Schonen

Ground loop interference with Computer, DAC, Mixer, Speakers?

Cute Beyond sound = BAD
Hmm, I just traded my Lunchbox Pro tube amp for a Cute Beyond, sounds good to me, I use EMU0404 as pure DAC for source, I must have crap hearing. :/ Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.audiophileproducts.com.- Schonen

In serach of headphones with comfort in mind
You know they use the exact same driver, right? HD598 color is ok if you wear leisure suits too. ;) BTW, have you owned both 558 and 598 like I have? I gave the 598 away but still have 558. I have beyer DT990pro and they are very comfortable too but the cups are shallow and that causes...- Schonen

Sennheiser HD 590 Equalization
Everyone hears differently so you EQ to what sounds good to you. The only suggestion is don't over boost the low frequencies or else you will cause distortion. On HD558 I increase bass slightly and lower top end slightly, they have good mids so I leave that alone.- Schonen

Is it worth getting really high-end headphones if your source is 320kbps audio files?
"The truth is, very little is lost in 320 files. What is lost is mostly color and dynamics, but the essence of the music is still there." Ever done ABX testing of MP3 compared to loss-less? I have, (you can do that with foobar) I tested on a friend and I and we both failed to be able to tell...- Schonen

My vote is also 558/598. I've owned both and IMO the extra money for 598 is not worth it. Also, 558 is better looking than 598.- Schonen

Huh? I own CAL and the bass is up there with DT990pro, which I also own. They are a warm bassy headphone and not thin sounding at all.- Schonen
