The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

After exactly one year of near daily use my HA-SZ2000s just broke. The joint that attaches the left earcup to the headband snapped and it sounds like **** now since it's not creating a proper seal. Anyone have experience getting them shipped back to Japan? I bought them from the J-Made vendor on...

Any good headphones for Rap/Hip Hop/Other Genres?

Someone more knowledgeable will probably come around but start looking into:   V-Moda M100 Yamaha Pro 500 Denon D2000/D5000

    Yamaha PRO Headphones.

Quote: Great review. I'm having a similar experience and think that the mids are definitely recessed. The most noticeable was when the bass overpowered the lyrics in most of the songs I've listened to. Overall, though, the sound is very rich and this pair of headphones is a very fun listen...

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

Quote: Speaking of which, is there any recent headphone that is semi-open like D2k/D5k with a similar quality of sound? I really miss my D2ks but I'm not paying $400 for a used pair.

    Sennheiser PC360 Discontinued!?

Quote: The PC360s sound very similar to HD555/558, and are also pretty similar to 598 which means they have a good soundstage and thus good for gaming. However you can probably save money buying HD598 and adding a mic (even Zalman would be great if you can manage to clip it properly). Not...

    Yamaha PRO Headphones.

Had a pair of Denon D2000s and loved them but they broke. I love the wide accurate soundstage of Sennheiser's HD598s but their bass is too weak for my tastes. Tried the M-100s and I'm not feeling it.. great bass but it's no where near as clear as the HD598s or D2ks. Do you guys think the Pro 500...

    Sennheiser HD598 amp/dac

What's a good DAC/amp combo that isn't necessarily portable but also affordable like the E17 that can help boost the bass of my 598s? I want to get a bit more bass out of my music but my experience with basshead cans (M100s) has been less than great.

    Sennheiser PC360 Discontinued!?

Just get something nice like HD598 and put on a microphone like this: http://www.modmic.com/. There's some youtube vids comparing the antlion mics to other decent mics and the quality is quite good!

    The Basshead Club

Quote: I'm not looking to reproduce the sound of the HD598s, I had D2ks which were closed and loved them (they broke). I was going to get another pair but they are not worth paying $400 for a used pair. I'll try out the AD900X, thanks for the advice!

    The Basshead Club

Just got a pair of M100s, switching from HD598s. Can't say the bass is lacking in the M100s but I feel like the overall sound coming out of these headphones is just no where near as clear as my HD598s. I'm not sure how you'd explain it with the proper lingo but I'd say it just sounds muddy in...

    The Basshead Club

I see the word 'portable' being thrown around a lot. If I don't plan to be using my headphones outside my home should I look into something that's not portable? If so what are my choices at around $300?

    The Basshead Club

I had a pair of Denon D2000's in the past and absolutely loved them. Unfortunately they were defective and died within a month so I returned them and picked up a pair of HD598s. I like the Sennheiser's but honestly the bass is weak compared to the D2000s. I kept them anyway since they're a great...

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

Just bought a pair of D2000's last month and the right earphone is already dead :( Anyone else experience this? I've had this happen to crappy headphones in the past but they usually last at least a year or two. Makes me wary of purchasing any more Denon products.   Amazon still accepts a...
