The Astell & Kern AK240
Not hate. Just disappointment that this might start a trend. I admire the desire to be different but the practice is probably going to be Marmite as we would say in the UK.- RevC

Now see! It can be done. A little bland and smart phone looking but at least you don't feel compelled to pluck your own eyes out when using it. My faith in Korean stylists is almost restored- RevC

Ha! Maybe. I am sure their styling budget is not as great as the Bavarian car maker. But surely the Koreans can find machines that can do curves?- RevC

The Astell & Kern AK240
I really don't understand. The AK100 and AK120 have a sort of understated elegance. What the hell happened in the boardroom when someone took the AK240 in and said "here we go, isn't this fab!"? I agree to a point that it is about the sound but come on. Car ownership is all about the driving...- RevC

Musical Fidelity MF-100 On Ear Headphones.
Listening on these now as I type. First album so probably not representative of how they will sound in a month or so. I am actually quite impressed. Not normal a MF fan as I find the sound a bit thin but I needed a set of foldable headphones for the new longer commute and these fit the bill...- RevC

The Official Bose Bashing Thread
I have just bought a Bose Soundlink Mini wireless speaker for when I am working away from home and don't want to put headphones on. £170 compared to £120 - £180 for a Jambox or Soundmatters equivalent. In limited testing in shops I thought the Bose sounded fuller and better so I bought it...- RevC

Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread
I also ripped everything to FLAC. Took me two years but it was worth it. If you start with your most listened to music it can take the stress out of it. I don't use the C3 with a BH but I can verify that it is worth the investment in time in getting the source files as good a quality as...- RevC

TrollDragon I don't know if it was a blip but the sound level seems to have restored itself now. I tried to reset it (doesn't normally work) and it seems ok this morning, if a little quieter than normal. Gremlins!!- RevC

Colorfly C3 Discussion Thread
Help! I have just upgraded the firmware to 10.0.0.6 (not a pleasant experience again) and now the sound volume level seems have gone right down. I have to turn it up full just to hear anything. Anyone else encountered this or am I the lucky one?- RevC

Just Audio AHA-120 Appreciation Thread
Quote: The C3 is much better quality, at least in terms of music. The interface is poor in comparison and you will not enjoy finding the music so much but once you hit the play button you will be blown away. It depends on what music you listen to but anything with simple voice and...- RevC

Just Audio AHA-120 Appreciation Thread
I have been enjoying my AHA-120 for about a month now and it "just" (sorry - pun intended) keeps getting better. Everything seems so much clearer and cleaner. It works best with my Colorfly C3 but the Cowons benefit too. I can rediscover so much music now!- RevC

It is a fantastic little amp. It is truly portable, well built and long, long battery life. I think sound quality is excellent for the price and I am very happy with it. The Just Audio is more for when I am sat in the office rather than on the train or walking to work and the Little Dot will...- RevC

I have heard nothing but good reviews which is why I bought it and the audio quality is a nine and the build quality faultless. But then it should be for £350. I don't know about you but I think it is important to understand your first impressions and how they change over the listening hours. I...- RevC

Only three stars at the moment because I have yet to hear it really sing. I hope it will do with time and a variety of music but I can't hand on heart give it any more right now. Hopefully I will come back to this review after listening to the Beach Boys etc and I can up the rating.- RevC

First of all let me say that I acknowedge that this is an expensive amplifier. Not extravagent in the big scheme of things, particularly if you consider some headphones but as a portable amp it is significantly more expensive than others on the market and for this reason it needs to justify...- RevC

London Meet - Saturday 27th April
Ah yes, I remember dying of embarrassment when I had to ask for Doot Doot by Freur in Virgin Megastore in Plymouth. The girl in HMV had already thought I was mad. Luckily the chap in Virgin just reached down and pulled out a pristine 12" copy with the squiggle nicely displayed on the front. ...- RevC
