Audeze MM-100
Browsing this thread, as a local used version has come up for sale, and had to respond to this profoundly ignorant comment. On what basis do you feel assessments of quality from non-european sources, sit below european opinions?- galacticsoap

If you're considering picking either of these units up, you already know the TT2 is a highly regarded digital-to-analog converter that delivers exceptional sound quality, while the M-Scaler takes the incredible resolution of the TT2, and takes the pace, rhythm, and timing of your music up...- galacticsoap

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!
Hi @Abyss Headphones , how are things traveling with the Diana Phi TC Closed-Back? I'm in the market for a pair of closed-backs and am holding off purchasing the many options out there until Diana Phi TC Closed-Back is released. Google threw this up when I searched for the latest on a Daina...- galacticsoap

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Thanks for your insights & contributions @alekc & @rkt31. While I have no doubt the amplifier section of the TT2 could be improved upon via a dedicated headphone amplifier, the use case I sought to cater for when purchasing it was for a small-factor DAC/AMP combo. @alekc , perhaps the Mytek...- galacticsoap

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Hi Everyone, I am thoroughly enjoying listening to my Abyss TC's via the M-Scaler & TT2. I am listening to the TC's via the single-ended output, and am looking forward to trying them via the balanced connections when I get the appropriate adapter made up. The TT2 replaced an MSB Discrete DAC...- galacticsoap

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
That's it, I feel the same way. I certainly feel the insidious creep of a straight-up confrontational and angry tone to the discussions on this forum. I'm not out here nieve to Headfi's strengths and its obvious weaknesses. The latter, rightly requires people to take someone's support or love...- galacticsoap

Mate, I wasn't diagnosing you as cognitively deficient. You're clearly articulate and intelligent. I do though, see a disconcerting level of frustration and discontent in your posts. The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
You're entitled to your views, of course, it's an internet forum and we're talking about headphones. Given the societal decay occurring around the world at the moment, your views on a headphone aren't going to keep me up at night. What I do find concerning is how overtly combative and acerbic...- galacticsoap

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Can I just clarify, in your view anyone/everyone who has asserted/recounted a positive experience of the 1266TC is because they either: a) Don't have "standards"? or b) Need to validate the cost of Abyss? or c) Have a commercial relationship with? Abyss That's quite the hot take...- galacticsoap

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
Hi Everyone, apologies if this has been posted before, I've searched and haven't found precisely the answer I was looking for. Using the 1266 TC I turn the volume up to -1H (on high gain), will this cause clipping?- galacticsoap

Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview
Oh wow, I wasn't expecting that, I thought they were a good 7db less efficient than the LCD-4's, therefore harder to drive.- galacticsoap

Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview
Great to hear that you've got one and are putting it through it's paces, it would be even better to hear if you plan on comparing and contrasting the LCD-5 to the Abyss 1266-TC. Cheers, GS- galacticsoap

YULONG DA1: Flagship All-in-One with AK4499, 5W Class A BAL headphones and Pre-Amp
Eagerly awaiting some reviews on this unit. It looks like it ticks all the boxes but until I can get a sense of how this sounds it's hard to put down the tick over $US5K required for this stack. At the advertised price it's being pitched against the usual suspects as far as Chinese TOTL DAC's...- galacticsoap

Eleven Audio XIAUDIO Formula S Headphone Amplifier
The "pinnacle DAC"? The sooner people stop subscribing to these sort of views the better. Having owned the DAVE + Blu Mk2, and a whole lot of TOTL DAC's in my time I can assure you that are plenty of DAC's that do more than simply "come close". The DAVE is an exceptional component, but to...- galacticsoap

A summary of recently recommended new arrivals, and March sales at SHENZHENAUDIO!
I'd challenge that. They've listed a power rating at 32ohm so I suspect they anticipate some users using it to drive the likes of an Abyss TC or Susvara. I also think the rear headphone output is a poor design choice. Its a pitty it doesn't have balanced XLR inputs.- galacticsoap

Just picked up a WA 11 and I have to say its a revelation when paired with the Verite C's I just picked up. I have though stumbled on a bit of a unique issue. HiFiMan Susvara
@koven Thank you! I'm still running a quasi near-field system in a less than ideal room these days however many of the components have changed. TAD's CR-1's have replaced the Harbeths, and Tube Pre from Line Magnetic alongside Hypex NC1200 Class D mono's have replaced the vintage Sansui. The...- galacticsoap

@koven - thank you for taking the time to post your thoughts re: the Bakoon vs HPA4. Unfortunately, I don't own a pair of Susvara's yet but your content is as relevant for Abyss owners IMHO.
