    SONY NW-ZX500

I had the similar issue after letting the battery go flat for a few months. Turns out even though the orange light was turning on with my 1A charger, it wasn’t actually charging. A hour on my 2A laptop charger brought it back to life.

    Earbuds Round-Up

I dont recall seeing these but something about the bent metal loops just screams Sony industrial design in a way I can't resist :)

    Earbuds Round-Up

I really interested. They remind me of a more open AirPod. 5.5 hour battery life is a bit of a bummer but the ring design is quite intriguing. Seems like it’d be a nice compliment with ANC headphones.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Thanks for the tip. Lack of touch controls is definitely a bit concerning. Shame the noise canceling doesn’t work too well irl.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Thanks for the recommendation! The 1More has me intrigued especially with the price and their claim for 40db of NC. I honestly never even considered that ambient mode wouldn't be available during phone calls. Bonephones were ordered bit earlier in the day, though I'll keep these in mind if I end...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Pass through is still there. Its just really not great compared to the APP. Though I also haven't experienced anything matching the APP in pass through so may be the exception rather then the norm.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

CA MT are going back to Amazon. When they paired they were fantastic, but when they didnt...😡I also realized I missed the fantastic passthrough on the APP, so likely going to look into some more open options like earbuds or bone conduction.

    Sony IER-M9 impressions thread

I ended up selling my IER-M9. As a complete package, it is without a doubt the most impressive IEM I own in terms of being tuned well, having flawless technicalities, with a build to match. However, several small things like the shell putting pressure on my concha, a uncomfortable ear seal no...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

The liberty 2 pro and the t1xs were also on my short list based on comments in this thread. Ultimately ended up with the Cambridge audio as the amps and design appealed to me more. Between the soundcore and fiil, which did you prefer?

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Oof. Thats rough. The connection definitely is hit or miss vs APP almost always working. I have been wary of glitches so keeping the box on hand for a return. It definitely is warm even after I crank the bass down. The touch controls are a mess. I had a similar issue with the volume so disabled...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I recently picked up the melomania touch for $90 and have to say I'm super impressed. Out of the box on performance mode they sound (tuning and technicality wise) close to the Fiio FD1 (my favorite IEMs around the $50 price point). Coupled with the fact that they EQ decently and they're...

    Sony IER-M9 impressions thread

Thanks for the explanation. I’m especially surprised that the M9 super tweeter is used for the Z1R midrange. That just makes it even more impressive that the Z1R sounds so coherent. When compared to my ER4XR, the M9 does feel to have more oomph and more physical. So I can see that being the...

    Sony IER-M9 impressions thread

I had the chance to audition a friend Z1R a week ago and I have to say I was a bit disappointed? Perhaps they require good seal like the M9, though I just expected a more noticeable difference in impact especially with the DD handling the bass. The mild V really made some higher pitch things...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

FWIW I cannot hear a difference between the two during a quick non-blinded test. Both were streaming Apple Music Lossless on a LG V40 to a Qudelix 5K + Sony IER-M9 at the same volume. LDAC was set to optimize for audio quality/96Khz with the rest of the settings left on default. The only time I...

    hd25-1 impressions thread

I finally got myself a set of blue amperiors for $125 while I was on the look out for HD25 aluminums! Driven by my qudelix 5k (easily clipped to the headband with the short cable), they sound a bit V-shaped to me with elevated mid bass and recessed lower mids. It ways it reminds me of a less...

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

Thats comforting to know. It reminds me a bit of people being nervous of LCD driver failures. Either way, I'm glad there is a headband assembly replacement thats available worse comes worse. I will say it still does make me a bit nervous to buy Focals at full price. Though thats probably better...

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

Focal headphone headbands are composed of relatively thin plastic and can crack. Some of the posters say that the headband/yoke assembly can be replaced with that from a Hifiman HE400 though its concerning none the less. Source...

Focal Elegia - what do you think?

This is the settings I copied from the video. I don't remember seeing a setting for glasses, though admittedly its been a while since I've seen the whole video.
