Quote: Originally posted by elrod-tom I recently checked into shipping from the UK (was considering an X-Tone), and was informed that it would be $70 UK!!! That's over $100!!...and no $$ towards the item itself. Oh well...guess I didn't want an X-Tone anyway. No it shouldn't...- katsudon1

SonicAdventure Reality or HP-100
Let me ask the questions explicitly. 1.Does SonicAdventure manufacture an amplifier for the Chinese market called HP-100? No, SonicAdventure never manufactured hp amp for the Chinese market. However, 2000ok (an individual), as an honorable member of Chinese head-fi DID sell units AT COST of...- katsudon1

SonicAdventure Reality or HP-100
In response to PC Corp's comment on the relationship between REALITY and HP100, we would like to clarify that HP100 was the prototype of REALITY and 2000ok was one of the founders of SonicAdventure. This has been asked a few times by others via email inquiries, hence, we have also stated this...- katsudon1

Sonic Adventure Tube/Mosfet Amp
Never mind, miller. Yes, this amp is based on the DIY project, HP-100. Now REALITY is more advanced and refined than its ancestors with quality components used. FYI: The original designer is one of the founders of SonicAdventure Ltd.- katsudon1

TimSchirmer, IMHO, ATH-AD10 sound very similiar to W100's. They have less details but a slightly wider soundstage and more air.- katsudon1

D-88
I think D-88 was engineered with 3" CD single in mind, these 3" singles are damn popular in Asia (esp. Japan). It's ability of paying a full size CD is just a bonus. So, pls don't think it's a joke. A lot of Japaneses have more 3" CD singles than full size albums.- katsudon1

SONY 10th anniversary Minidisc units:MZ-E10 player and MZ-N10 portable recorder
In case you guys are not aware, SONY will be releasing these tiny new MD units. The MZ-E10 looks kind of cool to me. It comes with a Headphone amp that has 5mW+5mW into 16 ohms. 20-20kHz +/-3dB See: http://www.sony.jp/CorporateCruise/P...00209/02-0902/ for more information- katsudon1

d-ej01 & d-777
To my EJ01 is more or less a collectable item rather than a PCDP that I would carry around everywhere I go. The HP out is loussy and I felt like throwing it out of the window when I heard the D777/900/905/- katsudon1

D-777 or newer Sony PCDP?
appar111, As a previous owner of your 955 and a owner of a D777. I don't advise you to trade the 955 for a D777. Given that you are using Koss Portapros because you can only hear a marginal sound improvement after changing to D777. OTOH, if you use revealing HPs like ETYs, the difference is...- katsudon1

putting on ksc-35
It's a steep learning curve, isn't it. Ok, the way I put it on is to put my thumb and index finger in between the clip and hp enclosure. Slowly expand these 2 fingers so that the gap between the clip and HP widen. Hold the HP up and slot it down to my ear, and the gap will automatically go...- katsudon1

SR-60 w/ Sony MD walkman???
Most of the portable gears shall be able to power Grados due to the headphones' low impendance. However, I have to remind you that the Grado HP plug will not fit onto the HP jack of the "stick" SONY remote. Hence you may have to plug it into the HP jack of the MD unit directly. In that case you...- katsudon1
