Best IEMs / earbuds for me?
Obviously there's one of these threads made per day, so sorry for posting another one. But I feel like I have some fairly specific desires in an earbud / IEM. Forgive me! My two main priorities are, first, durability (I will be wearing these at night in bed, while commuting daily, while...- pummer

Best all-around phone for <$100
I mostly use my Sharp HP-MD33S earbuds but increasingly I find myself wanting full-size headphones. I listen to a wide variety of music (folk, rock, psychadelic, hip-hop) so I'd like to know what you guys think is the best all-around headphone for less than $100, taking into account sound...- pummer

Some official info on the Senn CX300 vs. similar headphones (HP-33MD, EP360, etc)
I was curious whether these phones were in fact the same, as they look visually very similar. So I emailed Sennheiser support with the following message: Quote: Many of us over on www.head-fi.org are wondering: are the new CX300 series exactly the same as the Sennheiser IE4, the Creative...- pummer

Home Audio: Can this even be done?
OK. I have a stereo setup in my basement, with the "B" speakers located upstairs in my bedroom and connected via speaker wire run through the wall. What I want to do is still be able to hear music from the basement receiver in my bedroom, but also be able to input other devices in my room...- pummer

MD33s - one bud louder than the other?
When I'm listening to my Sharp HP-MD33s, the left bud is a lot louder than the right bud. This is a problem that wasn't there when I first bought the buds - it just developed. Anyone had this problem? I have no idea what might have caused it, other than earwax somehow? I dunno. Anyway, I...- pummer

Koss Pro/4AAA - 70's vintage cans
Recently I stumbled upon a set of Koss Pro/4AAA's that my dad has had for "30 years," he says. Anyone know anything about these? They sound pretty damn good for their age. I like them, but they're reaaaaally heavy. I think the earpads have deflated though, and I've emailed Koss to try and...- pummer

Putting in MD33s
Is there a trick to it, or do you just push them straight in? I think I figured it out (I needed the small flanges), but I'm just wondering if there's any special way to push them in, twisting or anything.- pummer

CMOY problems - buzzing at high volume, no sound otherwise *PICS*
I'm a noob to DIY audio, and I've just "finished" building my first CMOY. I don't have a multimeter, but I should be able to get one within a few days. The problem I'm having is that I'm not getting any sound from the CMOY, except when I turn the volume all the way up on the source. When I do...- pummer

building a CMOY - dual headphone jacks?
I'm building a CMOY, starting tomorrow. I have a slight amount of electronics experience, but this will be my first venture into audio. As I also bought a pair of Sharp MD33s, I'm thinking: Why not have two output jacks on the amp, one for 3-pin, and one for 4-pin? I've found a 4-pin jack...- pummer

ex71 vs. md33 /w CMOY - and what about the ER6 and E2C?
I do most of my listening on the bus. As such, my MX400s aren't cutting it. They simply don't isolate enough, and I can hear the bus motor over my music. I was looking into a pair of ATH-FC7, but it doesn't look like they isolate as much as I need. So, I'm looking into a pair of low-end...- pummer

Portables ~$50
Here's my prior experience: I was quite happy with my Koss PortaPro, but they got stolen, and I was beginning to look for a bit more of a "closed" device anyway. I was generously given a pair of Senn MX400 by terrymx, but they just don't have the bass I'm looking for. I also use the Senn PC150...- pummer

PortaPro quality in an earbud?
My Koss PortaPros got stolen about a month ago. As a student, they're pretty much at the upper end of my price range, and I was amazed at the quality for the price. After the theft of my PortaPros, I had to revert to the stock earbuds from my Creative Zen Xtra. Over the last month, I've fallen...- pummer
