If I mostly listen to mp3's, does it make sense to spend more than $100 on headphones?

Bought Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro but.....
You can use any regular speaker wire with them. They're probably not good enough speakers to warrant better cables though... If you can get them for < $200 they're a great deal, especially solid for movies and games, maybe not quite as much for music.- pwnasaurus

New Guy, A few questions
I am really interested in the DT880/600ohm as well, but I would like to hold off on buying an amp/DAC for a couple months if possible. Will my old school (80s) stereo receiver have enough power to drive these at reasonable levels from the headphone jack?- pwnasaurus

Need advice on DAC/AMP
Hi guys, I'm going to be picking up a pair of DT880/600 premium phones. I've heard really good things about the Darkvoice 336SE paired with them, so I'm probably going to pull the trigger on one of those. I have an X-fi sound card - should I buy a DAC to go with it? I was thinking if...- pwnasaurus

First set of cans: DT880 + E7/E9 combo
Hi guys, I'm pretty new to the audiophile scene. I'm looking to get my first pair of nice headphones! I've been searching around for quite a while now, and after testing out some DT880 250 ohms, I found their comfort combined with their excellent sound to be just what I think I'm looking...- pwnasaurus
