Looking for ~$100 Warm Cable Down IEM
Hello. Looking for a gift for my sister, and figure she would appreciate an upgrade to her IEMs. The criteria I'm looking to abide by is as follows: I'm willing to spend around ~$100. They will be worn mainly cable down, and should be primarily designed to be worn as such (she won't want...- xII DM IIx

All the headphones at the Apple Store sound terrible.
Quote: Probably because they don't stock headphones just because they're expensive. If I was a retailer, I would pick brands that have been shown to be able to sell, especially in high quantities to the common consumer.- xII DM IIx

FIGHT THE BEATS HYPE (Ultrasone HFI-580/HFI 580 appreciation thread)
Quote: What? Seriously? Since when are there boundaries as to what defines "normal" music? This type of mindset doesn't make you in any way better than the people that you're bashing - it merely places you it a different category.- xII DM IIx

Philips Citiscape Uptown vs. ATH M50s
l have not heard the ATH-M50s. I do, however, own the Uptowns. I can vouch for their comfort; I can wear these for hours on end with no significant discomfort. They seal pretty much everything from the outside, and do so quite well even without music playing. They apparently using something they...- xII DM IIx

AKG K167 TIËSTO - Discussion, Impression, Review & Appreciation Thread
Yeah it was the price that had a good deal of influence as to my decision to get these, to be honest. I wonder why these are already going down so much in price. Weren't they released fairly recently?- xII DM IIx

AKG K167 TIËSTO - Discussion, Impression, Review & Appreciation Thread
placed an order for these today so they should be coming sometime next week. it was a tough decision between these and the ue 6000s, but I'm hoping that these don't disappoint, particularly in the comfort factor.- xII DM IIx

[REVIEW] Logitech UE9000 - Ultimate Ears HEADPHONES Released! The UE4000, UE6000 and the UE9000 - Impressions Thread
So I actually read through most of this thread to try and decide whether or not to get these. After doing so, I'm left a bit confused. Are these worth it or even above their $200 price point? AND Are there similarly priced, or even cheaper, options that are equal or better in...- xII DM IIx

I'm guessing they have a removable cable? Try swapping in a friend's cable to see if that's the problem.- xII DM IIx

Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review
Just how spacious are the cups? Will they be able to fit my ears if the Citiscape Uptowns and the UE 6000 fit but something like the Skullcandy Aviators don't?- xII DM IIx

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
so how low in quantity is the bass the hd 598's exactly? how does it compare to something like the Skullcandy Aviators (which I thought was sufficient in bass quantity) or the Citiscape Uptowns if anyone has heard either of them? Or maybe even the ultrasone 580s? i'm a bit new to the over...- xII DM IIx

Constructive "Anti-Beats" headphone discussion
As a general question in cases when someone wants to buy something and asks you for your advice or opinion on it - be it a pair of headphones or speakers or whatever - how far can you advocate your recommendation (that differs from theirs in this case) before you become overbearing or imposing?- xII DM IIx

Constructive "Anti-Beats" headphone discussion
Quote: I'm completely with you on this one. The only reason I can think as to why these constantly keep popping up is because people feel better about themselves for putting down stuff that a good number of people like. But surely people aren't that petty, right?- xII DM IIx

looking for some straight up opinion on the sound of the velodyne vpulse
no problem. If you want, I can sell you my pair. I have oddly shaped ears and ear canals, so unfortunately I can never get these things to be comfortable. I would keep them if I could get them to stay in my ears, but this is a problem that I have with a lot of IEMs haha. I just got them on the...- xII DM IIx

looking for some straight up opinion on the sound of the velodyne vpulse
I think you might be referring to joker's review? He means flat in terms of soundstage I'm pretty sure. The soundstage is not at all distracting to me. I'm not saying the mids and highs are bad by any means either. They are quite clear, but they're nothing special, particularly in...- xII DM IIx

looking for some straight up opinion on the sound of the velodyne vpulse
Okay so the only other IEM that I have on hand to compare the vPulse's to is the Philips SHE3580. Not sure if you've heard them. I used to have a lot higher end IEMs but I've sold them. Anyway... To be honest I never really liked the Klipsch S4's. They sounded far too boomy and sibilant to...- xII DM IIx

Yamaha EPH-100
This has probably been answered by now, but is the general consensus that the Gr07s are superior to the EPH-100s? By superior I mean in terms of over all sound quality.
