Schiit Lyr Shipping! Impressions?
Yep, the cheater plug trick worked for the mouse interference (it's a USB mouse, BTW), which is why I moved the LYR to a different power tap and thus, eliminating that problem. However, the faint buzz remains. I live in a house, actually, with a few others but I'm probably the only one...- todd77

Schiit Lyr Shipping! Impressions?
Quote: Yep, everything that's connected to a wall socket has been turned off in my room but the faint buzzing is still there. The only thing that's probably still on is my roommate's cellphone and iTouch, which I can't seem to locate... Also, when I tried plugging my LYR to the same...- todd77

Schiit Lyr Shipping! Impressions?
Is anyone getting a faint buzz from the LYR? With my Sennheiser HD650 and HD380, I can hear a faint buzz / hum coming from the amp (more so with the HD380) even when the volume is turned completely down. It seems the buzz doesn't get louder or softer when the volume is adjusted. It's a constant...- todd77

Well, I believe I've solved my problem by... simply avoiding it altogether. I've assigned all music playing duties to my 6-year old desktop PC running 32bit Windows XP. So far, everything's running without any problems, even when running upsampling DSPs which would usually result in nasty static...- todd77

Kernel Streaming Output in Foobar with Corda Dac/Amp
I realize this is a very old thread but I've recently come across the same problem when trying to use kernel streaming playback through Foobar in an old Windows XP PC of mine, which is connected to an external USB DAC. The solution, it seems (after a bit of Googling of course), is rather unusual...- todd77

Yulong D100 DAC - static problem
Quote: Nope, still waiting for his reply. I went ahead anyway and got a powered USB hub - the 7 port one from Plugable which can be purchased from Amazon. While I no longer get static cut-offs (this, I think, is more likely due to the adjustments I did to Vista and Foobar), I still get...- todd77

Quote: There are no pops or crackles when nothing is running (well, except Foobar). I can even do processor intensive work like 3D modeling and large file copying with hardly any hiccups. It's only when I'm using a web browser that the problems become more apparent. Simply loading web...- todd77

I've tried Asio4All and I've tweaked the buffer lengths for both WASAPI and Asio4All (as well as Asio's buffer size) but although they do minimize the occurrence of crackles (by increasing the buffer length - for WASAPI, max I can go is 1000ms, anymore and the playback is fast forwarded; for...- todd77

I'm not sure if this has been addressed as I've yet to go through all 127 pages (still on page 29) of this thread but I'd like to ask if the Hiface can help in eliminating the pops and crackles I'm currently getting with my audio setup, which is: laptop (2.8GHz dual core, 8GB RAM, nVidia...- todd77

Best closed headphones under (around) $400
Though I haven't heard them myself, the Fischer Audio FA-003 or it's woodied variants seem to fit the bill for you, judging from the reviews it is getting. See here: http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/491632/review-fischer-audio-fa-003-a-neutral-champ- todd77

Review: Yulong D100 DAC/amp - reference quality with a reasonable price
Quote: Just did some quick latency check - it seems to have a lot to do with the browser - or rather, how it is displayed. There will be spikes whenever I scroll webpages, either with my mouse or my keyboard (and this is only on Head-Fi. I shudder to think what would happen in Flash heavy...- todd77

Review: Yulong D100 DAC/amp - reference quality with a reasonable price
Mine's an nVidia 8800M GT. And for my case, the graphics card is no supported by the laptop manufacturer (alienware, and for quite a while too as the "official driver" is really old) and the latest ones posted on nVidia's website are not compatible with mine (believe me, I've tried). I had to...- todd77

Review: Yulong D100 DAC/amp - reference quality with a reasonable price
Just noticed that my D100 is more prone to pops and clicks during browsing than anything else. Really weird. I could spend hours modeling using a 3D software - which is supposed to be more processor intensive - with hardly any pops. However, should I take a break and do some browsing those pops...- todd77

^^ Thanks for the reply. Your settings are almost exactly the same as mine (with the exception of the buffer length, which was set to 1000ms) when I first tested my D100 - this would always result in the static noise cut off problem with my laptop, always. At 96kHz, the static noise would occur...- todd77

I'm now using WASAPI and have tested for several hours - still no luck. The pops and clicks are still there, occurring at a rate of about once every three songs... It's really annoying too as they sound really sharp. I've changed Foobar's buffer length anywhere between 300ms and 1000ms and...- todd77

^^ Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've tried tweaking both Asio's buffer size and Foobar's buffer length - increasing one while decreasing the other; increasing both; decreasing both - but to no avail. The pops and crackles just won't go away. I guess I'll revert back to WASAPI then and see how it...- todd77

I'm one of the few who had the static noise problem with the D100. However, after following some of the guidelines as outlined in another thread (the one titled "Yulong D100 static noise" or something like that), I've no longer had them. I do, however, hear the occasional pops and crackles every...- todd77

Yulong D100 DAC - static problem
Hello everyone. A new headfier here and a new owner of the D100 as well. Unfortunately, it seems I'm experiencing this static cut off problem as well. After setting up the D100 to my laptop just this evening and running it for about half an hour, the static problem happened to me. The only way...- todd77
