Need iem suggestion
Thanks for that info. I've decided finally that it is between either the sm3 and 1964 -Q as originally I thought. What is the difference between the sm3 and sm3 v2? I actually prefer the look of the original.- Heatley

I am interested in either the sm3 or one of the monster turbine pros. what is the difference between the copper and gold? Also, what amps would pair well with these, or do they not need amping?- Heatley

Need iem suggestion
thanks for the answer. has anyone heard the jh5 and 1964 ears Quads both? I would like to know which offers better price/performance. What do you consider low quality music and a bad source to be? I use my ipod touch 2g currently with mp3 files at 192-320 kbps. Should I rip them all to...- Heatley

Also, I hear customs benefit from amping more than universals. Is this true?- Heatley

Need iem suggestion
Sorry, my bad. I listen to a good deal of dubstep, classic rock, alt rock, classical, and a little bit of hip hop/pop. Isolation is great to have, but not a factor at all for me, and I want some fun sounding earphones. I listen to music for enjoyment, not to a/b for the best set up in the whole...- Heatley

Need iem suggestion
I am looking for a nice portable setup. I need the iems, source (unless my ipod touch 2g is sufficient), and portable amp/cables (please leave opinion on these) if needed. My budget for the iems alone is 300, but it is lenient.- Heatley

Need new portable source
Quote: I've heard the Sansa Clip and HM602 are comparable in terms of sound quality, and wanted to confirm the validity of the statement. No matter what, I will be getting the iTouch 5 this September, so should I just stick with that? Can someone give their opinion of which ones are...- Heatley

Need new portable source
Interesting. How would you guys fair the iPod touch paired with the rsa p-51 against the hifiman? Better? Worse? Also, is it worth my while to go and pick up a sansa clip today? They're on sale for $40 (4GB), and they look perfect for jogging.- Heatley

Need new portable source
I'll be using the 1964-Q custom iem. I hear that the hifiman 602 has an amp built into it. Does that mean if I buy a seperate amp it would be redundant? If so, how good is the built in amp? I'm currently looking at the GS voyager or ibasso d4 as a seperate amp. I'm new to the head-fi scene, so...- Heatley

Need new portable source
I lost my iPod touch 2G which I was quite content with and am now at a loss for which portable source to get now. I need an mp3 player, which can play flac and wmv if possible. I will use this 90% sitting at home and 10% jogging. I need the battery life to be 5 hours minimum and the storage to...- Heatley

Need portable amp suggestion
I need a portable amp for my 1964-Q custom iems and ATH-M50. I was looking at the highly praised RSA SR-71, but after I saw the price I decided I would rather not have an amp that costs more than either of my phones. Are there any amps under 200 that would offer a nice soundstage, and improve SQ...- Heatley

Need a custom IEM
Thanks a bunch. For $500 i'll definitely have to try those out. On a quick side note what do you guys think about remolding universals? I was thinking because I have a pair of IE8's, but they are always falling out.- Heatley

Need a custom IEM
I am looking at some custom IEM's and decided to get a quick opinion. My price cap is $400, but feel free to suggest more expensive options. First of all, do you recommend I save up to buy some high-end custom IEM's or just go with a cheaper alternative for now? I am looking to get the following...- Heatley
