Meelectronics CC51 Review & Audition thread
First I would like to thank |Joker| for the lender program, here’s my impression of the CC51. Build Quality: The CC51 uses ceramic housing and the housing feels quite sturdy and has a nice weight to them, and is also coated to prevent scratches and fingerprints. CC51...- mootookang

My personal impressions on Meelec CC51
Quote: The stem of CC51 is about as long as Brainwavz M2, but the housing is metal and has a slight angle on them. http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu236/rshie/003-6.jpg http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu236/rshie/004-4.jpg- mootookang

My personal impressions on Meelec CC51
Interesting review, I've been listening to them for about a week from |Joker|'s reviewer program. I agree with most of your review, but I don't think they compare that well to $100-120 headphones. I personally think they belong more toward the sub $60-70 range.- mootookang

Close to Super.Fi 5 Pro's
Depends on how they're broken, you can always try to get them reshelled into customs. Or you can always wait for someone to put them up for sale on the FS forums, but it's pretty rare because the resell value is really bad.- mootookang

Is it recomended to buy used or refurbished IEMs??
Refurbished would depend on whether it is an authorized seller or not. Check the main website of the brand you're looking for to see if the seller is authorized or not. Unauthorized seller resell returned products on their own, and the product would not be covered in warranty from companies such...- mootookang

Is it recomended to buy used or refurbished IEMs??
Quote: There's nothing with buying them used, but I would recommend buying them though headfi, since most members take good care of their items and is generally honest and modest about any condition flaws on the items.- mootookang

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread
I think I'll be against pairing up the B2 with OFC cable. If done so, B2 would be even more like the DBA 02. Though DBA 02 have issues in availability, I don't think it is necessary for Brainwavz to create a product that similar. DBA 02 do hold it's own in the Head-fi community and has a...- mootookang

RE0 Dissapointment
You don't have to force yourself to like them, if you truly enjoy your HD212, just stick with what you like. Personally, I think you should reserve judgment until they're burn in for a bit. If they still don't sound better to you after about 50-70 hours of burn in, you could always...- mootookang

CK-10 vs. CKM-99
The limited availability also doesn't help. Audio Technica often only release products that doesn't leave outside Japan, and the importing fee and process makes it harder to get an impression on them.- mootookang

How to make IEMs last ?
That's not really the case, since most modern products are designed to be replaced after certain amount of time, heavy usage on entry level IEMs is usually around 6 months to a year. heavy usage on products would make it more prominent to wear and tear, since you're closer to pushing the...- mootookang

Amping my IEM's
The gain on amps also matters a lot, if your IEM is more efficient, get an amp with lower gain. A gain too high would create a lot of sibilance and it could potentially burn out your drivers if it is used continuously.- mootookang

Can we split off the IEM threads to a different forum?
I think the main point is to let those who are searching for portable options know that different options exists. Majority of new audiophiles tend to start this hobby because of the recent trend of "headphones being cool". Some young audiophiles may take this opportunity to search for something...- mootookang

How do you use your multiple IEMs
Haha, I just realized that our gear inventory is very similar. :D I pretty much do the same thing you do, but I generally favor the TF10 more over the RE262 because of their efficiency, but I do agree that TF10 > RE262 > RE0 makes a great rotation combo. I would suggest adding brainwavz M2 into...- mootookang

How to make IEMs last ?
This is exactly what I mean. Try to not just search for one "be all" IEMs, instead search for maybe three IEMs that does things differently, you'll maximize your enjoyment and understand Hi-fi a lot better. Of course, correct budgeting decisions are also very important, so try to do more...- mootookang

How to make IEMs last ?
The main ways that I take care of my IEMs: - Wrap the cable with the over-under technique, it lesson the memory build on wire. - Use case when not in usage. - Rotation, continuous usage will shorten the life all expendable products, limiting usage through rotation will help expand all of our...- mootookang

Ultimate Ears Tri Fi 10: Audio quieter in the right monitor
A good way to see what is wrong would be trying the flipflop mod, connect the right cable to the left ear piece and vice versa, if the right housing still sounds quieter, the problem lies in the drivers/ connectors. Also, how high volume are you listening them to? there will be a imbalance in...- mootookang
