Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Hey a few questions for you guys. On the review of the dt770 pro, you say it would be very good for gaming but the bass lets it down. If you are gaming on PC and have the luxury of EQ'ing the base to be very low, would they be worthy of top competitive gaming headphones? With that in...- CaptainRusko

Bass heavy - treble light headphones
Quote: Sorry I should say what headphones I have experienced. I have actually got the Sony xb500. Now the bass on these is definitely there, but I find these headphones suit songs that have a moderate amount of bass and helps bring them more to the fore. With songs that have a lot of...- CaptainRusko

Bass heavy - treble light headphones
I am now pretty sure I prefer headphones with a bit more bass, or rather a bit more sub-bass, the frequencies which produces a rumble rather than a boom, and so have been trying to look for headphones that are a bit bassy. Now here is the problem... A lot of headphones that cater to the...- CaptainRusko

Question here, can the E9 be used as a pre amp to a power amp to drive loudspeakers? If so are there any power amps that pair well at a budget price?- CaptainRusko

Budget headphone+speaker amp
Found a NAD 3225PE on ebay, was wondering if that would be adequate to drive headphones as well as speakers. What would a second hand reasonable-ish condition be worth? £50~? Also looking at a Scythe Karma Kro amp, though I am not too sure how well it drives headphones. £45~ I think...- CaptainRusko

Budget headphone+speaker amp
My issue with buying old second hand amps is that I do not know enough to recognise a good deal or even one that has had it. I know potentially you could find an amp thats amazing value for money, but I am not so confident I could.- CaptainRusko

Budget headphone+speaker amp
I have some DT880's and may be getting a T50rp soon as well as getting some cheap speakers that do not need a whole lot of power to drive. Any suggestions on an amp that can do both jobs for under £50~ if that's not asking too much. Ideas atm Topping TP30 Scythe 1100 or later...- CaptainRusko

DT880 Blown Driver?
I have got these DT880's that i have been sitting on in a non-working state for about 6 months now that have got a problem with the sound being greatly reduced and distorted on the right hand side, yet still resembling the music you are playing. Now I asked this about what the problem might be...- CaptainRusko

DT880 Sound problem
I have some Beyer DT880's and were working fine for around 6 months when the sound almost completely disappeared from the right side, to the point where you can only hear a really fuzzy sound out of that side if you turn them right up, although it does sound like whatever you are listening to...- CaptainRusko

Is the Chaintech av-710 still a good card?
On a very tight budget, looking for a cheap sound card to improve the onboard audio I have on my PC at the moment. I know the chaintech was highly regarded when it first came out and was just wondering whether it still represents value for money in 2010. I am buying it at £23, could I do...- CaptainRusko

Headphones and Amplification
OK I just found a thread basically that answers a lot of questions I have: http://www.head-fi.org/wiki/buying-guide-headphones-by-price-range It lists the DT770 as "2" on its amp recommendation level, which denotes "amp recommended". But you say it works fine without an amp bar1. ...- CaptainRusko
