Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Agreed and I myself can live with the slightly laggy UI - DAPs are not supposed to be input intensive like a smartphone. Alex An comes to Hong Kong (and other countries in the APAC region) for meets and other events.Would have taken the chance to speak to him if I ever meet him. I don't...- Leba

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Good to know. I have personally experienced problems with (1) and (2), and (3) has been mentioned number of times in this thread: 1. Better gapless playback (It's not working all that well with some formats - ALAC, AAC and MP3 to name a few. With FLAC it is ok but still not great). 2. The...- Leba

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Rockets pair pretty well with the AK Jr.as in it has no problem driving it. The mid and vocal still sounds as sweet as it should. I somewhat prefer to pair the Jr. with IEMs with a more V-shape sound signature though but that's just me.- Leba

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Hi guys, I'm having problem with the time /clock of my AK Jr. Every now and then it would go an hour or so behind the actual time although I have been adjusting the time pretty much every other day or so. Searched this thread and don't think I'm the only one, has anyone has this problem and...- Leba

Rockbox for iBasso DX90 dual boot with Mango (Stock Firmware)
Thanks for the great work it has been really magical . I have seen this problem raised earlier in this thread but not sure if it is still the case - With the touchscreen: when it's not on hold and is turned off it still processes touch commands (although only for a couple of seconds), is it...- Leba

Hmm so according to lurker iBasso has increased the gapless buffer to 1000 ms in stock firmware version 2.1.8, curiously gapless playback is still buggy for me... Odd.- Leba

Thanks for the new firmware Paul. Tried it briefly and think the missing-2-seconds glitch is still around... Think I have to stick with 2.1.5L for the meantime.- Leba

Case for IE8i
Not sure if the cable length on the IE8i is the same as IE80 (I imagine it is), I keep my IE80 in a Westone Vault when I am on the road. Size is just right in a jeans pocket too.- Leba

Fostex TE-05 Japanese Price, Release Date Announced
So after all the good impressions I went to buy myself some TE-05, no luck as it seems like they have been constantly out of stock around here... Found something else though! Got them for ~USD250, not exactly cheap for a pair of single BA IEM. Same price range with the Ety ER-4 (at...- Leba

TTPOD T1-E Impressions thread
Oh my.... been using these T1-E for a week by now, hard to believe I paid a mere USD30 for them, colour me impressed ! Sound is good, cannot fault the isolation and comfort either. The only thing that leaves me wanting more is a better build but for $30 that sounds like too much to ask...- Leba

Thanks for the review! If you wouldn't mind can you tell where in Hong Kong you got them from? Is it that headphone store called LK Sound? I certainly would love to have a listen with these if that's possible. Hope you're enjoying your time in Hong Kong mate.- Leba

How do the HF5 compare to RE-ZERO?
Hello everyone! My 2nd pair of RE-ZERO crapped out on me shortly after the end of the warranty period. Therefore I am in the search for a replacement. I'd rather not buy another pair of RE-ZERO though, mainly due to concern over the build quality. After some research I am leaning towards...- Leba

So, I tried a pair of the newest style of stock iBuds the other day
The older version ibud that came with the 3rd and 5.5th gen iPod that I have were downright awful, both in build and sound. The ones that came with the latest iPod Classic (the one rumored to be OEM'd by Foster?) are much, much better at least in the sound department. Is this the 2nd gen...- Leba

So my Ultimate Ears Just died :( Time for a replacement! :D
The RE-0 are amazing bang for the buck for the asking price. The problem is that coming from the SF5-Pro chances are good that you will find them lacking bass. You may need some time to adjust to the RE-0 sound. Once you get pass that it should be alright. I personally enjoy the contrast...- Leba

K518LE impressions
Yeah I like how they sound without the foam insert better too. And I've tried to loosen the grip by different means and the result was subtle, wearing them for 1 hour and I begin to feel the pressure. Interestingly there are people who think that the K518 sound different to K81 (such as...- Leba

They are damn nice cans indeed for the price. To me they are almost perfect for $75, if it wasn't for the excessive clamping force.- Leba
